How do we keep it on? She mainly does it when she is waking up in the morning, but she keeps taking off her pants too.
Is there anything we can do to stop it?
she is old enough to start potty training. I started potty training at 16 months with my daughter and she was fully day and night time trained by the time she was 2 years old. If she is already taking off her diaper, I would go ahead and start training her. Good luck!!
In our home that is a sign for potty training to begin.
I agree, try encouraging potty training. My kids did the same and I'm sure lots of kids did. Heck, my kids would just take their pants off in public if they really did not want to wear it anymore. What nightmares.
Onsies, overalls, snap in the crotch outfits, duct tape over the tabs of the diaper, anything that keeps the tabs out of her line of vision.
This is not a sign for potty training...even a 10 month old can pull a tab.
This is a sign that she is gaining her finger manipulation skills. She is starting to have much better fine motor skills. This is a good thing that you can encourage with other things, like picking up egg noodles, anything she can't choke on.
She has "learned a new trick" so to speak, cause and effect, she does something and it is fun for her because she gets a reaction.
This is something that all kids this age start doing. It is an almost universal activity.
Duct tape. Seriously.
You can try putting her in backward footie pjs.
Snap crotch shirts into pants. Duct tape on the tabs if is really bad. I took care of a little boy who would only poop if if he was in his crib and then he would take off his diaper what a mess I had to tape his whole waist per moms request it work we used masking tape at first but he could get it off so then it was duck tape.
Is she staying dry through the night a peeing alot first thing so she does not the diaper on? if that is case she could be ready for the potty.

She does in in the a.m. possibly because she's just woken up to a full diaper and really dislikes the heavy wetness of it. Not a lot you can do about that at only 15 months but I sometimes resorted to changing my daughter when she was asleep at night so she would have a better shot at not having a huge, soaked diaper by morning. Maybe consider a diaper that does not leave her feeling wet. The pants (you mean trousers?) may just be more because she doesn't like elastic around her waist or around her ankles -- try styles that are very soft and don't have any elastic in them, if the current ones do.
Some kids do start potty training this young but I don't think what she's doing is necessarily a sign that she's ready. A sign would be if she were taking off full diapers all day long; telling you she doesn't like to be wet; being cranky or fussing or pointing at her diaper when wet; etc. Only doing it when she wakes may means she doesn't like to be wet, but it doesn't mean she's ready to potty train. Watch her for other signs of readiness but don't push it too fast.
One set of our twin grandsons did this. It was awful and my daughter could not keep a diaper on them. She finally used duct tape, put on overalls that they couldn't get off, put some clothes on backwards, put one piece pj's on backwards and finally they quit one day just like it started. It is a big problem if they start messing in the diaper and making messes, I had one do that at 15 months old. She painted the bed and anything else she could get to while in her crib. Try to put a stop to it now by using the tape, clothes she can't get off especially in the mornings. Tell her 'no' and keep at it. It will end someday!!!
So glad to see I wasnt the only one to use duct tape! lol....people used to laugh at me when I would tell them I would duct tape the kids diapers on them, well heck I had two trying to take their diapers off and run around the house naked peeing on things.. ohh those were the days...NOT!
