I would wake her up and get her checked out. I am very leery of head injury's! We lost a family member ( 19 years old) from a concussion and sleep. I would error on the side of caution and get her checked out. Please let us know how she is.
My son decided to run with my 15 month old in the stroller and as I turned to tell him not to run with her, the wheel caught ( umbrella stroller) and she fell forward as did the stroller on top of her. She hit her head off the ground (bounced off the ground) when she finally landed she bit her lip open but she seemed ok. She did cry immediately after this happened but she didn't really scream like i thought she would. About 5 mins after the incident she started yawning excessively and finally when we got home she seemed really cranky like she needed a nap so I laid her down in her crib and she fell asleep pretty quick (within 2 mins she was sleeping) I did check on her to make sure she would wake up and she did but she just popped an eye open for maybe 2 seconds and went right back to sleep. She just woke up cried for 20 seconds and went back to sleep. Is this normal or could she have a concussion? I do know some of the signs of a concussion but in a 15 month old its really hard to tell as a lot of the symptoms are headache, memory loss, balance and things like that.

The whole "don't sleep if concussed" idea is a complete myth.
I'd keep an eye out for unusual behavior over the next day or two.
Check the eyes, symmetrical and responsive.
Google concussion symptoms & observe.
A call to the nurse at the ped's office is always an option.
Good luck!
I would of taken her to the ER. Seems like she had a hard fall.
I never let my kids fall asleep if they fell hard or hit there head, even if there fussy. I've taken all 3 to the ER because I wasn't sure. I rather be safe than sorry. :-) but you should really keep an eye on her.
I'd take her in just to be on the safe side.
I would take her to get checked out if I were you. Yes she could and you probably should not have let her to go sleep. Normally they said if someone has a concussion you don't let them sleep. They only way I know how to tell is shine a light in their eyes and see if the puples react equally. But it's hard to do with a kid thats older so she might not let you do it.
First and foremost, did she lose consciousness, or seem less than aware of her surroundings immediately following the fall? That is the clearest indicator of concussion.
If she was completely alert, looking at you while crying with focused eyes, and reaching for you immediately, I'd say she's fine.
For her tiredness: Was it already naptime for her? Were you out for a while, which would normally tire her out? If she normally would not be tired, then yes, it's something to be concerned with. If she was due a nap...and she did wake up just fine, I think she's probably okay. And she probably cried when you woke her because she wasn't ready to be awakened from her nap!
Keep an eye on her for unusual behavior that indicates that she got her bell rung. And take her in is you see anything odd.
I went through this last month. You need to 1) Call her doctor and talk to them, and 2) Monitor her for 24 hours, her doctor will explain it to you. If you can't reach her doctor call your local ER and speak to a triage nurse.
Make sure she doesn't reinjure the area, as that will incease her chances of a concussion considerably. Any nausea, vomiting or you're unable to wake her normally you get her to the ER immediately, those are danger signs.
In the future anytime there's a hard knock to the head take her in to see her doctor or the ER immediately, don't take chances and let the experts advise.
I'd rather err on the side of caution...either take her in to ER or call your pedi...asit is, as you said, hard to tell w/ a 15 month old....don't mess around w/ head injuries....hope she's OK
M.:
Are her pupils equal or are they different? If they are different sizes - take her to the ER - she has a concussion. If she has dark eyes, use a flash light and look at her pupils - are they the same size? If so - she's most likely fine. If they are unequal? Not good.
Typically - after a head trauma - doctors suggest that you not allow the person to sleep.
Call your pediatrician and tell them what is going on. If she starts vomiting - you need to take her to your urgent care. That is another sign of a concussion.
Good luck!
She was probably ready for a nap anyway and the trauma of her brothers antics, put her over the edge. Wake her up. If you can of wake her, get her checked out. If she is up and functioning, no problem. Just keep an eye on her. I get the feeling she is fine. This will be the first of many of these events. Kids give you the ride of your life!
