Can anyone offer me help on this one? Her older brother went right to a sippy cup, but she's putting up a fight. And she drinks ONLY milk -- turns up her nose at juice, water, anything. We're currently trying to get her through a bout of diarrhea and her bottle/milk thing is making it all the harder. We've tried giving her milk only in sippies, clear liquid in the bottle, but she will take the sippy only on occassion and refuses the bottle with anything other than milk. She's 14 months. Any help appreciated!

What can I do next?

Well you may want to try using a regular cup instead of the tippy. I know my daughter never really wanted the tippy and that was one of the was to get her off the bottle. But when you do it, make sure you don't do it cold turkey because they can act out on that. The last part of the day to give up the bottle should be evening feedings cause that is the cuddle time that babies love. Thats the way I went about it and it worked so I hope it helps you out too.BTW as far as the diarrhea goes you may want to try give the lil one some bananas it helps a lot with babies and adults.

This is when "tough love" comes into play. If you are wanting her to not use a bottle anymore I would simpley get rid of the bottles, get them out of the house. You can even show her that you are putting them in the garbage and when she wants it remind her that you through them away. It may be tough for a few day's but I think you will be suprised on how easy it will be once you don't have them in the house any longer. After all you are the one in control of giving it to her or not. Good luck

make a big deal out of it make it a party to say bye-bye to the bottle we even had a special "ceremony" where he threw the bottle in the trash can and just keep pushing the water and juices eventually it will work

the best thing that worked for me was only offer water in the bottle, and milk in the sippy cup. If she prefers the milk she will evently go with the cup. She will fuss with it for 2-3 days but stick to your guns with it and she will go with it. The other thing is try a soft tip sippy like Avent. I hope that helps.
