By all means, take her to the emergency room! Little ones can become dehydrated much quicker than adults, don't wait any longer. Hope she is better soon!

I was at the urgent care on Monday.. Seems like all the babies there had the same things. I would take her in. Dehydration will be a concern..

I wouldn't wait. Babies dehydrate very quickly and if you wait too long they may not be able to get a vein to administer IV fluids and then you have a tragedy on your hands. If her eyes are sunken in and she has no tears when she cries you need to be at the ER an hour ago! Try giving her tiny amounts of fluid with a syringe (formula, breast milk, water, pedialyte...whatever)and see if she can hold them down in the meantime head to the ER. It never hurts!

good luck

try giving her popsicles...basically anything that will get fluid down her...i know sugar isn't necessarily the greatest...but you do what you have to! OR ask her if she'd like to suck on crushed ice. she's still pretty little so this may be difficult...try to entice her w/something! call your dr.

I would call your Dr. and describe the symptoms. When my daughter was sick an vomiting, the nurse suggested giving her water only 1 tablespoon at time (from the table spoon). Then wait 20 min. and if there was no vomiting, give another tablespoon. Sometimes baby's stomach gets so cramped for throwing up, they can't hold large amounts of anything down. This gives the stomach time to settle down and keeps the little one hydrated.

Watch for wet diapers, tears when crying and dry lips. These are the things I was told to look for by our pediatrician. If she cries, and has no tears, then she is dehydrated. Try Sonic ice...if someone can go get some for you. They have the good, small pellets, so she should be able to suck on them. They will also sell it by the bag. I think it is $1.50/bag. GOOD LUCK.

Call her pediatrician IMMEDIATELY!!!! My daughter ended up in the hospital twice before the age of a year and a half because of dehydration from vomiting and was put on IV's for 3 days each time. Infants get dehydrated VERY quickly.

If there was bacteria growing on something she ate, vomiting would start about 8 hours later. Did she eat any leftovers? 0r chicken out of your tacos at a restaurant?

Mild cases run their course in just a day. MOST IMPORTANT: Keep her hydrated. I think PEDIALYTE makes icee popsicles now.

More serious cases of bacteria food poisoning, like Ecoli or Samonella should be seen by a doctor. They last longer and the child really gets sick for days.

I am not sure how late I am replying but the best thing to do is to watch for him/her to wet his diper so you know he is not dihydrated. If you have pedialite give him one teaspon every 30 min andgive ice to suck.. He doesnt want to drink anymore because he is afraid he will continue to throw up and he probably will. This gives you a change to call his peiatric..

I would call the doctor's answering service and let them know what's going on if you are extremely concerned. I wouldn't go to the ER unless there were other symptoms like fever and if she was lethargic. Does she have any other symptoms? If she doesn't drink something, she can get dehydrated. Try pedialyte or water as much as you can.

I would take her the pediatrician or pediatric urgent care right away!!!! Babies can get dehydrated so quickly, and it can be very dangerous. Good luck. I hope she's better soon.

My daughter got sick the same way at that age. You should definitely call your doctor. Here's what my doctor told me...don't feed her if she doesn't want it. Don't give her milk or formula, at that age only pedialyte. Then when she starts to show interest in food again go with the BRAT diet...bananas, rice cereal, applesauce, and toast. Obviously make it to where a 10 mon old can eat.
Now, my DD went a whole week without having any formula and I was worried about it. The doctor said that as long as she was drinking the pedialyte then she wasn't going to get dehydrated and it wouldn't hurt her.
This is just my experience. I highly suggest calling your pediatrician and getting them involved.
Hope she feels better.

You need to contact your dr asap. If they allow for it, try a product called Little Tummies (pharm section)it helps calm the stomach down so they can hold down the water.

Best Wishes,

I would call your doctor's answering service. If it is a virus, they won't be able to help you. The most important thing is to keep her hydrated. Even if it's just a sip every half hour. Don't worry about foods. Clear liquids only. You may even want to consider popsicles. Good luck. My son was 12 mo. when he got his first stomach virus. Nothing makes you feel more helpless.
