Hi moms!

My 10 month old has slept perfectly through the night since 4 months. About 3 weeks ago she started getting her bottom two teeth. Ever since then, she hasn't been sleeping well. Her new pattern is going down to bed aroung 7:45 and waking up screaming around 11:00 pm. I have tried many things....and can't seem to break this habbit. Last night I went to comfort her around 11:00 and put her back in her crib. She woke up 20 mins later and I let her cry. She went to sleep about 25 mins later.
My older daughter is 3 years old and is a dream! She had some trouble with teething I remember but by this age she already had 6 teeth!! Any advise would be appreciated ;) Thanks!!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

After thinking about things for awhile and talking to a fellow mom, I tried probiotics...they really seemed to help!! She has been sleeping much better now. Perhaps the teething has lessened or she is used to it. I do however feel that her tummy was bothering her. I also stopped breastfeeding around the time she start having sleep issues. Could be many factors but for now I am thankful for the probiotics helping her be more regular :D

This is very normal for her age. Teething and learning to walk and all these milestones occur around this time, which makes night sleeping filled with more interruptions.

Perhaps some infant orajel or a cool teether will help. Don't take her out of the crib or turn on the light or speak, just gently rub her back for a few minutes.

Mine all went through that stage around 8-10 months. It was hard but it does get better. I never turned on the light, never took them out of their crib (unless they were crying really hard (then only for a minute), I shhhed them and patted their butt for a bit and walked out for a bit and then patted and left etc... till they fell back to sleep. It's hard to do which is why I am done having babies LOL :) Good luck.

If you are sure it's teething pain maybe give her Tylenol before bed? Or lube up her gums with oragel. Good luck!

Ok, so I went through this as well. What I did was what most people would say "DON'T DO!" I couldn't get him to go back to sleep by rocking, holding him, so after him screaming uncontrollably I went and got a bottle of milk, warmed it up, and gave it to him. I was then able to have some sleep myself. I also think part of it could be a growth spurt. Yes, it's bad to get in the habit of giving a bottle, but it hasn't gotten into the habit mode with him, he isn't waking up for bottles, but I guess it depends on the child.

T.,
Have you tried Humphreys #3? they are little round pellets that you disolve in a little teaspoon of water, then have her drink it and it will be very helpfull. I did that with all my children (3). It helped them more than the oragel, they didn't like the taste or feeling. Ask your pharmacist for it. Or try the tylenol when she wakes up.
Blessings
