Stain Removal Woes

I am having a huge problem trying to get stains out of my kids clothing. For a few years I have sworn by the Dawn dish soap and Oxyclean paste on a stain and that worked wonders! Now it seems that it doesn't work at all! I use Melaluca laundry soap and I tried using their stain removal product but I am so disappointed with it I am going to send it back! I have also tried Sol-u-Mel with the same results. Does anyone have a tried and true remedy that gets out dirt, spaghetti sauce, berry stains and all those other hard to dissolve stains...

The Wonders of Baking Soda!

I am amazed at how well Baking Soda cleans! A couple weeks ago I tried a paste of water and baking soda in my oven and let it set for a couple hours. When I came back I used a little elbow grease and it was shiny and clean without all those nasty fumes. I just now tried it on my glass top stove (I researched to make sure it wasn't going to damage it first). This time I read to use a paste of baking soda and lemon juice. It worked far better than the nasty smelling cleaner that I purchased specially to clean glass stovetops and my stove...

No Bleach? How Do You Do It?

A few expressed horror at bleach in the recent ceiling mold question. So my question is, how do you live without bleach? I need it for the laundry, on occasion, especially to wash my cleaning rags, and I spray bleach cleaner in the sink probably three times a week because the sink gets stained. Also use it in the toilet. So if you don't use bleach, how do you take care of sink stains? I have never discovered another product that removes them.

Alternatives to Soda? (For Me)

I have always been a regular coke drinker. I have tried diet and the 0 drinks, but I always go back to regular. It did not used to be a problem, but after my second child I have gained about 15 lbs. I eat pretty good and try to exercise 4-5 times a week, so I have decided I have to try to get off the soda. I tried 5 hour energy, but can barely choke it down. And Green tea is the same. By the middle of the afternoon I am so tired. I work full time and am a full time mom, so I want to have the energy to play with my kids and also feel good. I...
