Baby Crying While Bottle Feeding at 4 Months, Starting Formula

We are transitioning from breastmilk to formula for my 4 month old baby. As we are increasing the amount of formula per feeding (every feeding is mixed with some breastmilk), we are noticing that he seems to turn his head to the side and cry for the first few minutes. After this time he will sometimes get the hang of it and finish the bottle, but sometimes he will end up only taking a few ounces. It does not seem to be gas related. I am wondering what may be causing this--pain, distraction, etc. It seems to be about the same for...

I've been using Avent bottles to feed my son pumped breastmilk ever since I brought him home from the hospital about a month ago. Lately, it seems as if the bottles are leaking all over the place. Seriously...some are so bad I should just dump the breastmilk right on top of him, because the bib, burpcloth, and his clothes end up soaked. I have made sure that the lid has been screwed on super tight and that the nipple has been pulled through the cap and is forming a seal. Additionally, I wash my bottles by hand so I don't think the...

Bottle to Sippy

I need suggestions on transitioning from the bottle to the sippy cup. My daughter is 11 1/2 months old and I know its best to start trying to take the bottle away. I have been giving her a sippy cup with water in it at dinner every night for a few months. I have tried at times to give her her milk during the day in a sippy cup but she won't have anything to do with it and will whine until I put it in a bottle and then she will drink it. I'm not sure what to do!!

Advice on Cluster Feeding

Hello all. My little girl just turned two weeks today and I am exclusively breastfeeding. I am over the initial engorgement and my nipple tenderness has pretty much subsided. She is gaining weight well and has a pretty good latch. I nursed my now 27 month old for 8 months but it was never easy. I have a couple of questions/concerns. My daughter seems to be falling into a pattern of cluster feeding in the late afternoon early evening hours ( 4 to 6:30 pm) I pick my 2 year old up from day care at 4, so this has been very trying on us....
