Washing Bottle Nipples...

Okay-This is probably just a ridiculous question BUT how come you cannot put baby bottle nipples on the bottom of the dishwasher? Here's a look as to how much free time my husband and I apparently have:) We put the bottles in the dishwasher and the nipples and screw top things in a holder made for the dishwasher. Now, if I stick this on the bottom of the d.washer the nipples come out wayyyy cleaner looking but the bottle maufacturer as well as the nipple holder manufacturer make it clear in the instructions to never put either on the...

Dad Won't Let Toddler Brush Before bed...what to Do

I have a 2 year old that enjoys his 4oz bottle of milk before bed. (Dad's idea). I want toddler to brush after his bottle and before bed.(my idea) Dad says bushing his teeth will ruin the mellow mood and cause more bedtime issues.(Dad's idea) I am worried toddler's teeth will be bad - I can already see some discoloring on his teeth close to his gums. How should I handle this and still respect hubby????? When should I take toddler to first dental appt? Follow up: I appreciated the sincere advice and hope the critical and harsh...

Bottle Nipples for Breastfed Baby

We are trying to find a bottle nipple that our daughter will take that doesn't take so long for her to eat. I returned to work today and it took her 2 hours and she didn't finish the 2 ounces of breastmilk that my husband gave her. I was gone for 6 hours and she didn't even eat 2 ounces, which scares me a bit. Has anyone found a bottle nipple that flows faster than the average bottle nipple? We have only used the Medela orthodontic nipples to start with but I also have the evenflo nipples, which we haven't tried yet. Thanks! M.

Sterilizing Bottles and Such

How old were your babies when you stopped sterilizing the bottles and pump stuff? We have a steam sterilizer that I use for everything, I BF so it's mainly pump supplies and the occasional bottle, but I was just wondering when others stopped and just handwashed or ran things through the dishwasher. NOTE: I'm not looking for an explanation of why sterilizing isn't necessary, just when others that did use them stopped. It's quick, easy, and it makes me feel better!
