In 2003 Alexandra completed the teacher training program at YogaWorks. In 2004 she trained with Judith Hanson Lasater and became a certified Relax and Renew Teacher. Her teaching is influenced by the Iyengar style of yoga and her teachers have been Iyengar certified teachers. She specializes in restorative, yoga for fertility, and pre & postnatal yoga. Alexandra's restorative class brings recuperation to the internal organs, the nervous system and the consciousness. The postures are done quietly and attention is brought inward. Yoga for fertility gives special attention to postures and meditation techniques that open reproductive energy channels in the body. Meditation and breathing techniques as well as specific postures have been designed to help students deal with the stresses and emotional ups and downs of the fertility process. In the prenatal class mothers-to-be will develop strength and stamina, in preparation for labor. Students will discover how yoga expands breathing capacity and oxygen flow to the baby, as well as create space in the body for the baby to grow. The postnatal class provides a safe and nurturing environment for moms to regain strength and deepen the bond with their child.
