Which Car to Get?

Of the 4 cars I LOVE the GMC Acadia! I've rented when we go on vacation, business trips etc w/ 2 big carseats, 2 big teens (5'11" & 6'2"!) & 2 adults, a double stroller, bunch of suitcases, laptops,etc & we have found that the most comfortable, spacious vehicles have been the GMC Acadia & the Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The other ones we had to tie stroller & a bag to roof of car & those in the back 2 rows were squished & uncomfortable. When it's time to say goodbye to my minivan I want the Acadia. plus GMC gives a lot of extras as standards! I suggest if you can to rent the 2-3 cars you're considering for a day or 2 so you can get a real feel for what you like & need!

Forgot to include a babysitter or my mother-in-law which makes it 7-7 1/2 people in the car!

Don't have an SUV, but I do have a Toyota 2009 Corolla and am disapointed. I like the Mazdas better, since they're a heavier vehicle. My Toyota is really bad on ice and can't stop on a dime like my old Mazda and my 1995 Toyota could. The new Toyota is not a really safe car like they like you to believe, so I drive really far away from the driver in the front so I know I can stop if I have to. It slides really easily. Also it has a nasty drift back when on a hill unlike the other cars.

Do you need the extra seating all the time or just for carpool? I LOVE my Toyota Highlander and use the third row just occasionally for carpooling. If you need all the seating all the time I'd go for a minivan since you lose most of your storage space with that last row up. But if it's just occasionally, that Highlander rocks. Don't know about the others but Highlander is on a car chassis so it rides smoother than larger SUVs.

COOL people drive mini-vans. Wanna know why? The doors! Oh me oh my! The automatic doors are amazing when you have a bunch of small kids!

Also, the trunk, the trunk, the trunk. It has a real trunk, on top of seating 8. Stroller? Check, Cooler, check, beach bag, check, and 8 people, check. The others don't have all that, and everyone I know in an SUV that needs/wants a 7 passenger is buying, or is playing on buying, a Mini-van. I'm partial to the Honda.

Loved my cx 9 but the idea of 7 passengers is pushing it really - sure you could put a grand parent or kid in the way back on occasion but wouldn't recommend it for long trips. When we had our #2 last month we converted to a Honda minivan - miss the Mazda (zoom zoom) ba lot ut the odyssey is way more convenient.

Get the Honda Pilot. It seats 8 and the back folds flat for hubby to haul things. It's also the most reliable.

I've had a Honda Pilot for 7 years now. I LOVE it! I have had no problems with it. It is still going strong. The only downside that I can see is that you don't want big people stuck in the back for long, not much leg room. Comfortable safe ride.

Since I love my CRV I would have to go with the Pilot. My CRV is the first car I have ever owned that I didn't hate after owning it for a year. As my dealer keeps reminding me via email I have had it for four years. I as keep trying to remind my dealer I am keeping it till it dies, which I have heard is forever for a Honda. :)

I'm an insurance agent in AZ. Make sure you get the VIN from each and get a quote from your agent. There could be a HUGE difference in premium and that might help you decide. Congrats and good luck!

I do not have the Mazda CX-9... but I drool over it every time I see it. We however have a Mazda5 and love it (little over 5 years old and 75k on it). Morethenlikely our next car will be another Mazda, fingers crossed the CX-9.

I have a Chevy Traverse and it's really great!

We just got a pilot in May! It's a great car! (wanted a change from the vans!) Feel safe and it has a lot of room.

I have the Honda Pilot 2011 fully loaded. (8 passenger) Its great in the snow. I had gotten it in 2010, so I had it for those BIG snow storms. I do love it. However, if I had to do it over again I would of gotten the Toyota Mini Van. Only because I had a mini van and it was easier to deal with all the kids. So much more room in a mini van. I have 9 yr old 4 yr old, and two teens 18 and 20. We use MY car for road trips.

I have a Honda Pilot and LOVE it! I plan on driving it forever. It is the best car I have ever had (knock on wood) . There isnt anything I dont like about it. I had a mini van prior to this car and the only thing I miss are the doors. My Pilot is awesome in the snow (that was our main reason for buying it, the van sucked in the snow) They hold their value well too. Have fun car shopping!
