Hi L., I'm just getting to last week's Mamasource! I take my 14 month old to Infant Swim Resource in the Hollywood Hills. The instructer is Jessica Hart and she also teaches in Woodland Hills. I think the website is www.infantswim.com. or maybe it's www.infantswimresource.com? They specialize in infants and toddlers.

I took my kids to Jim Herrick Swim School. It's in Studio City I believe. It's been a few years since we were there as my kids are older now, but we had great success there!

We went to Australian Swim School in Tarzana. It's on Tampa near Victory. They were very good with the little kids. They had classes where the parents went in the water too and they had group classes for older kids.

Hi L.. I'm currently taking my 2 toddler girls (3.5 and 2) to Infant Swim Resource classes in Hollywood. However, the ISR instructor, Jessica Hart, also teaches out in the valley area, close to Sherman Oaks. YOu might want to check it out at InfantSwimResource.com and see if you can find classes close to you. It's been the best thing I've given my kids. Good luck!

I see someone already mentioned the Water Whisperer. My 6-year-old, who was TERRIFIED of the water, is now a perfectly happy and comfortable swimmer. Emily is a great instructor who knows exactly how to tailor a lesson to each child's needs and personality. I highly recommend her!

My son took lessons with the Water Whisperer who is on Woodman. Go to the waterwhisperer.com and check her out. She does classes every day for 10 days. My son learned how to swim. He was four but I think they do mommy and me classes. Check out the website and call Emily with any questions. We're going back this year. That's how much my son liked it. Good luck.
