What do they do? Any experiences with them?
It's a crock. Go pay cash, even if you buy used at Salvation Army or Craigslist.
These rental places are not much more than loan traps.. A $1000 bedroom set will cost you WELL more than $1000 if you rent it.
Be careful.
Stay OUT of debt... if you can't afford it don't but it.
I would never use them for myself for long term but I did use them when my mother came from China for 1 month to work. She had to stay in an unfurnished loft to do sculpture restorations and instead of living out of an ice chest and sleeping in a blow up bed it worked. I got her a bed, dresser, tv and fridge. It was totally worth it for 30 days.
I have a neighbor that used them for a month when she had relatives coming for a stay. She got a larger dining table with the chairs and a couple of bunk beds.. She even rented an extra fridge for her garage..
I thought she was very clever.. I would never purchase to own.. you will pay too much.. Instead I would use Craigslist and purchase slightly used furniture.. Heck I just sold a perfectly good queen sized futon with mattress and custom cover for $75.. That futon had only been slept on about 6 times..
The company my in-laws work for use it a lot. It's great in their situation, because they move every 6-18 months. Way too much hassle to move furniture, so they just rent what they need for the time they use it, then when they leave they don't have to haul it all over the country. It's great for if you temporarily need furniture, but not to buy anything permanently.
You pay way too much (in the form of payments) to rent furniture, electronics, etc. and if you miss a payment, they come and take the stuff right out of your house. If you're considering renting stuff-don't and if you're considering working there....?
You rent used furniture and home goods from them. Over priced but I guess for some who don't have good credit, it might be their only option. I would only use them if I were trying to stage a house when I'm selling it or something like that.
do not do it! you basically make payments on something you supposedly can't afford. My ex in laws bought a $800 tv thru them and after they paid monthly payments for like 3 years it ended up costing $3500 for the $800 tv. so not worth it!
It's a place where you can rent furniture, applicances, electronics, etc. You can also rent to own, which is the stupidest financial choice anyone could ever make.
It's not a store for the average person. It's good if you need to furnish an apartment for a few months because you are in the process of moving. Realators will use it to stage a house. Some people will rent a few items if they are entertaining out of town guest.
