Hello all,
Yesterday after eating dinner at a resturant i started feel very very sick. i have a bad upset stomach, nauseas, dizzness, fatigue and sore throat. It doesn't feel like your normal flu like feelings. Im at work right now and can't seem to focus on my work. Does anyone know what i could have? the sore throat would most likely of got from my daughter. She had complained of a sore throat for the past two days but she didn't act sick just said her throat hurt.

could it be diabetes, vitamen b12 deficiancy, or high blood pressure? At first i thought i was food posioning but my husband and i at the same food and he isn't sick. Then i thought maybe my daughter gave me whatever she had but i would of thought my husband and i would of gotten it together. For a long time now i haven't have much energy and at night can never stay asleep.. Could my body be warning me there is something worse going on?

What can I do next?

You probably have a bug of some sort. The timing is most likely just coincedental. Go home, if you can. Take a nice warm bath and a nap.

If it were food poisoning (which is what I think you're thinking) you would be vomiting and have diarrhea.

Food poisoning would of been from something you ate about 4 hours before.

could be food poisoning. I would get it checked out. I had that and didn't throw up but had the diarrhea with it and that's what my doc said it was.

I've had food poisoning and you feel like every cell in your body is about to puke. You'd know it.
Probably a bug, sinus infection, etc.

Hi M.E.
I am not in the medical field, so I am just offering my suggestions of what may be going on. Since you stated that you haven't been sleeping very well, lack of sleep does cause the immune system to weaken. So it's easier for you to pick up the slightest bug.

Try drinking some ginger ale to see if that will help settle your stomach. Also, try and get a good night's sleep. Is there something specific that 's causing you to not sleep?

Also try different things to build up your immune system. Drink orange juice in the mornings. Especially if you don't have time for breakfast. If things don't get better, please go see your doctor.

I hope you feel better soon!!

If symptoms persist get worse or can't be treated @ home with TLC call your DR he or she will be able to tell you what you have..
So you posted more & it seems like your wanting a diagnoses call your DR tell him what your symptoms are take his advice you can get all the testing you want or need to set your mind at ease & yes your body maybe telling you something it always does...

Not sure but your doctor would be able to shed some light on this issue - make an appointment to see him/her to get to the bottom of it. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Probably just a bug of some sort. maybe just stay home and rest a day if you can. just because your husband hasnt gotten does not mean you didnt. We had a stomach bug go through our house. My baby didnt eat for like 3 days, my son threw up a few times and didnt eat much for about a week and i got was thowing up and nausaus for like 12 hours and then just exhausted after that. My husband didnt get a thing. He was lucky. Since you just came down with it i would just give it a day or two and see if your feeling better. If not go to the dr. I wouldnt worry to much. hope you feel better soon!

If you add fever to your symptoms, you've just described how I feel when I get strep throat. Last time I had it, my fever got near 105 by the 3rd day which is when I decided to go see the doc. Like someone below said, the sleepless nights could have your immune system weakened, which could explain how you could get sick and not hubby. I say if you have fever too, go see a doc... Hope you feel better soon!

If you have a history of diabetes, high blood pressure, or have had a deficiency in B12 then definitely get in touch your doctor! They will need to check you and use the correct course of treatment.

If the history does not exist then an alternative is to call a pharmacist (their advise is always free!). They can suggest what to take to help you and if its truly necessary to see a doctor.

I do suggest lots of fluid and light to liquid meals. Jello, ice pops, ginger ale, 7-up, sprite, and even gatorade will help a great deal. If you do a liquid diet for a day or two it'll prevent dehydration and allow your stomach to settle down. Also, if you start vomiting with just liquid in you, its less traumatic on your system then trying to get rid of solid material (meat or veggies).

Get well soon.

Have you had your gall bladder checked recently? Was your meal at the restaurant a high fat meal? That seems like a silly question, given it's restaurant food! =) The sore throat could be unrelated, especially if your daughter had the same thing earlier in the week. I'm about to have my gall bladder removed, so that's what my mind jumped to with the upset stomach, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, etc. Good luck! I hope you figure it out!

Hypochondria perhaps? lol Just kidding. I immediately think It's a virus. Take some Theraflu or Nyquil and go to bed for a day or 2 and let it run it's course. If the symptoms persist, go to the dr. If you have had the fatigue for a long time and can't stay asleep - I recommend Melatonin. It's an herbal stress reliever and sleep aid. It's super cheap. They have a huge bottle for like $4 at the dollar store. It puts me out much more gently than tylenol pm and if I wake up in the middle of the night, I take another and go right back to sleep. No grogginess in the morning. You can also try excercising. When I'm really fatigued I find it helps if I get a lot of sleep, drink a lot of water, eat foods that are not processed, limit processed carbs especially, and excercise. I'm sure you are busy with work and babies, just like me. If nothing else, take a brisk power walk in the evening before bed. The fresh air and escecise will help you sleep beter. Better sleep will help you stay well and improve your immune system so you don't catch as many bugs.
