Have any of you been surprised today? My husband just came in and gave me a new wedding ring set. My other was "in the shop". He's such a romantic. He said he better do it before gold goes up anymore LOL! 26 years and counting. I guess he's a keeper.

My 4 year old took the magic wand I made for him this morning and tried to "Abracadabra" away the dirty pots and pans I was washing so I could come have fun with him....then he tried to make his little brother disappear ;-)
awww. my husband and i have always had a turbulent relationship, he has not been the most thoughtful, caring, intuitive, or just plain "nice" person. i have lost friends over them not wanting to be around HIM. people either love him or hate him. he also has a very short temper, always has.
in the last month or two he has made a concerted effort to be NICER. it started with his son in the last year or so, but lately he has just made HUGE improvements. his temper has been 100% under control. he has bonded with our son on a whole new level. he has handled discipline and corretion like a pro.
then, tuesday night our son broke his arm. my husband was literally the rock i needed in every way. we leaned on each other, comforted each other and him....he made everything BETTER instead of worse. a fact i have been trying to tell him for years, that married couples should make each others' lives EASIER instead of HARDER. he was everything i needed him to be at a time when i needed it most. then this morning while i was making a huge big southern style celebratory breakfast (our son got through surgery great and is on the mend!) - HE CLEANED THE ENTIRE LIVING ROOM AND VACUUMED!!!!
i think i appreciate it more because our relationship started out so tempestuous. i love him SO MUCH.
I am the one fixing up surprises for loved ones today...I am in the midst of packing boxes to send to our son in Iraq and our daughters in Floriday and South Carolina...I am so excited for them to receive them and see all of the love and fun I have tried to pack in them!!
My husband to me and our daughter to see the Movie the "HELP" today.. He was one of the only younger men there, he said he thought it was one of the best movies he has ever seen.
My hubby is overseas and just called us. WHat a treat.
The biggest surprise though - my son just lost his front tooth, with the other to follow in the next day or so. He doesn't want the tooth fairy to come just once for both teeth, he wants her to visit twice! He hopes she will bring him a Nintendo 3D-DS for his tooth - aye! WHat happened to $1!!! Mummy had to tell him - that there is no way the tooth fairy can carry such a thing! I guess for the second tooth he was hoping for the PORCHE to dazzle the girls with his now toothless smile! One day in the very distant future my boy will be a keeper too - he's only 6.
My husband came home from work today and let me go take a nap while he played with the kids. I am 9+ months pregnant (due 2 days ago) and it was so nice.

Aaawww...that's so nice! Congrats!!! My sweet little (11 yo) daughters bed broke last night so I found 3 beds on Craigslist. All the same captains bed but price range from $450, $125 and $65. The one for $65 is right down the street from us and he's selling it to us for $50! Yippee!!! So that was my nice surprise for the day!
That is so sweet! I guess this makes up for leaving his socks on the floor or dirty dishes in the sink, right? (But only for the next week or so...tell him to enjoy it! ;) )
I'd say he's a keeper! :)

aw, that's so sweet! My husband suggested I go to a friend's house last night and tonight to watch Veronica Mars (we've been re-watching season 1) since her husband and baby are out of town so she wont have to be lonely.
Soooo sweet!!!!
But no surprises for me yet... :) Poor my hubby... he is working....

Good for you! What a great man, he IS a keeper! So happy for you, very special. I look at mine about 20x's a day!
last night my hubby and i went shoe shopping for him, I was just going to get a new pair of sandals, mainly because they go on such good sales this time of year and also because mine are 2 years old and are worn out, wore them through my twin pregnancy. anywhoo, he ended up buying me a really awesome pair of tennis shoes, they were on sale and it was buy one get one half off, but they were still more than we would have normally spent, plus they are bright orange, i am too excited!!! then at walmart he got me my hair color i've been wanting, even helped me pick the color....it was awesome, i hardly ever get new shoes!!
