I joined Weight Watchers last night and I am super pumped up to follow the program to a tee! After hearing about the new Points Plus rules, I think it's a better fit for me than the old Points system.

Not wanting to lose the momentum, I was wondering if any one has some PointsPlus recipes they'd like to share with me. I'd love to see them! Thanks, Mamas

Good for you! I joined too. I originally did the At-Home Kit under the Momentum plan and then after they revamped their point system I had to reorder the materials and also signed up for the on-line program. Do you have access to the e-tools as part of your membership? If so, as stated below by another poster you can get recipes, access the recipe builder, and access the calculator on their site. If not, do you have the hand held caculator? If so, you can actually use ANY recipe and plug in the Nutriential (sp?) Info to see how many PointsPlus it has.

Food.com and Allrecipes have weight watcher recipes but most of them list the Points and not the PointsPlus but like I said if you use the calculator you can figure out what it should be under the new prg. Also, just discovered that most (not all, so be very careful) lowfat recipes are VERY WW friendly. The two websites (food & allrecipes) have TONS of lowfat recipes that I think atcually taste better than the WW official recipes.

I actually posted a similar question the other day but I was asking about non-weight watcher recipe sources that fit in with the WW plan. I found that I don't like the majority of the WW recipes myself. You can look up my question and read my responses.

Also, you don't have to be an on-line member to check out their message boards and people often times will post recipes there. However, they don't allow them to post points so again you'll have to figure them out yourself.

Another suggestion is to google into the WW site. Such as weight watchers and enchiladas and it will probably allow you into the site to view the recipe w/out being a paying on-line member. I use to do that all the time before I signed up to be a paying member. Unless they change it, you can get all kinds of recipes that way. And the official WW recipes posted by WW do have the Points Plus values.

Here are some official WW recipes from their site:

15-Minute Chicken Gumbo
PointsPlus Value: 5
Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 spray cooking spray
1 package frozen gumbo-style vegetables, 16 oz, a mixture of okra, peppers, and onions
29 oz canned diced tomatoes, with mild chiles
12 oz refrigerated grilled chicken breast fillet, cubed, about 3 cups
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp Creole seasoning

Instructions:

Coat a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray. Add vegetables and saute over high heat, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute more.

Stir in tomatoes, chicken and Creole seasoning. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until hot, about 6 minutes. Yields about 1-1/2 cups per serving.

15-Minute Vegetarian Chili
Points Plus Value: 8
Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 tsp canola oil
1 clove garlic, minced
14 1/2 oz stewed tomatoes
15 oz canned kidney beans, rinsed and drained
15 oz canned tomao sauce
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup dehydrated onion flakes
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 Tbsp low-fat shredded cheddar chesses, sharp variety

Instructions:

Heat oil in a large, nonstick, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until aromatic, about 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, beans, corn, tomato sauce, chili powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, onion, and pepper; stir well.

Increase heat to high and bring chili to a boil; cook, stirring frequently, until chilli is thick and flavors are concentrated, about 5 minutes. Spoon into serving bowls and sprinkle with cheese. Yields about 1 1/4 cups chili and 1 tablespoon cheese per serving.

Notes:

Use a heavy pot or the chili can burn easily. If it starts to stick to the pan, reduce the heat and stir constantly.

Here is a link to another recipe, I don't know if it is an official WW recipe as stated but when I entered it into the WW calculator I came up with 4-Points Plus.

http://www.food.com/recipe/weight-watchers-juicy-hamburge...

Here is another link, this recipe is NOT WW but it is lowfat. I wanted to give you some examples of how you can use the lowfat recipes vs. just strictly WW recipes. When I ran it through the on-line WW calculator it showed it as being 9-Points Plus (that INCLUDES the chicken too)

http://www.food.com/recipe/amazing-chicken-marinade-29598

This one showed as 4-Points Plus on the on-line calculator:
http://www.food.com/recipe/sticky-garlic-chicken-skewers-...

WW on-line calculator says it's 2-Points Plus
http://www.food.com/recipe/skinny-mashed-potatoes-145147

WW on-line calculator says it's 5-Points Plus
http://www.food.com/recipe/kittencals-banana-cinnamon-sna...

WW on-line calculator says it's 0-Points Plus (gotta LOVE that!!!)
http://www.food.com/recipe/chilis-salsa-59635

I haven't tried any of these recipes yet but hope to soon. Let me know if you discover any great recipes too, please.

My favorite thing to do for a quick meal is weigh out 2 oz of whole wheat pasta (5 pts) and Add 1/2 cup of black beans (3pts) and 1/2 cup of tomatoes (0 pts) and fresh mushrooms (0 pts) I usually add pepper and garlic to season. Its super good and super quick to make when you are in a hurry! Its one of my go-tos!

One of my favorites... (and the kids like it) is Veggie Spaghetti

Take one large or 2 small spaghetti squash and cut them in half, put about 1/4 water or chicken broth into each half and microwave for about 15 minutes, or until the squash starts pulling away from the sides nicely.

Once you pull the squash out you can top it with salsa or spaghetti sauce (low points) and walla... dinner in less them 30 minutes, and it is almost point free... you can add some ground turkey to the sauce to add protein and only a few points.

If you pay monthly, you have access to e-tools on the WW website, where you can look up all their recipes as well as use the recipe builder feature.

Try Skinnytaste.com(Gina's recipes) they have some recipes that tell you how many WW points. I always go on that site for dinner ideas, I love it! The most recent one I made was the Skinny Spinach Lasagna Rolls. I didnt make them as skinny as the recipe called for because I still had to feed the hubby and kids, so I just modified a little.

If you haven't already, subscribe to their magazine. I've had really good luck with the recipes I've tried so far. Current favorite is their Beef and Snow Pea Stir Fry. Also, Cooking Light magazine's recipes are usually a good match with Weight Watchers requirements and their recipes are always excellent.

Best of luck! I did Weight Watchers last year and reached my goal weight. Just maintaining now. It's a great program!
