My daughter will be getting married in the next year or so. We are thinking we probably will order invitations from a stationary store. Has anyone had good luck with a company or store when you have ordered your invitations?? I'd rather not order them from the internet..unless someone has had a great experience with that method.

we don't own a nice printer..and haven't liked the ready to make kind we have seen at Michaels and so forth.. we don't necessarily want to be bothered with creating our own.. we have been to "little shop of papers" in Barrington and they are very nice.. but pretty pricey... Also.. Does someone out there have their own business doing this and could make it more affordable? Would like to see some samples of your work if you do!
thanks again!

Hi,
I got my wedding invitations at paperboy in chicago...it's on Belmont and Southport and has parking. I absolutely LOVED them and went back for the thank you cards and eventually, my mom went there for my baby shower invitations...they were extremely reasonable in price. What I did was picked a a celery-greenish color paper with a gold-flecked vellum overlay with all the information printed on it and tied on the top with a small plum colored bow. They were able to make four invitations with one piece of stock paper and I think with envelopes and everything included they were less than $300. For the addresses, I copied the font they used and printed out clear address labels on my printer along with the return address label. They also have traditional invitations through crane and companies like that, but I wanted mine to look different, and they were beautiful. Four yearls later, I still get compliments on them.

Pam - Hello! Congratulations on your daughters engagement! That is such a fun time! I do custom wedding invitations to fit any budget. I have designed invitations for a little as a 1$ each to more expensive. I usually meet with the people I do invitations for and get an idea of what their event will be like and try to incorporate the special things about their event into a unique invitation. I then will come up with several samples based on this and then we go back and forth until they pick out something they love. If you would be interested, please contact me at ____@____.com
I hope this helps! Good luck with all of the planning!

Just remember that people throw these away, so try not to spend too much money in this area. Spend more in areas that count, photography, video etc....

I used the internet and got great invites at considerabley less than the same ones at macy's.
I'd look at the big books of stock they have, and find a few styles that you like then look for them on the net. Just make sure you double check everything.

Congratulations! When I got married we used FUN in Glenview. They have a location in Deerfield too. Actually, we didn't see what I wanted,I looked around at stores in the city and FUN was able to get what I wanted for cheaper then any place I found. They had a fabulous turn around time too. I think most party and card stores carry invitations they have loads of books for you to look through. Best of luck!
