Unemployment - IL

You generally only receive unemployment if you lost your job through no fault of your own. If you and your hubs voluntarily decided to move to Missouri for a job change then I am doubtful that you qualify for unemployment. If you have been jobless for 2 years I do not think you will qualify for unemployment (that would be like every new college grad getting unemployment because they cannot find a job but did work at some point a few years previously....and that would be crazy).

Not sure about IL but in Texas if you voluntarily left your previous job you do not qualify. Doesn't matter how long you worked. If you left voluntarily, you don't get it.

You only get unemployment if you had a job and were laid off or fired you can't collect from il when you obviously haven't lived there in 2 years. It doesn't matter how many years you worked in that state.

Not really sure why, after two years, you've decided you should get unemployment?

I saw your previous question, asking if you qualified for unemployment in MO. If you need assistance, you'd be better off seeing if you qualify for something else.

I don't think you can access unemployment b/c you weren't fired or laid-off. You quit your job to move and have not worked in IL, so you probably aren't going to get any support from that state.

In Illinois you have to be fired or laid off in order to qualify for unemployment. I don't know how long you have to file though. Why don't you just give the state a call?

If you filed on-line you should be able to find the guidelines for collecting unemployment in that state, I would check the website.

Also, if you were working in IL at the time you moved, you quit your current job. That would make you ineligible.
