HI Ladies,
Just lost my unemployment benefits and did not get an extension and I just started nursing school. I really need to locate a part time job which I will do anything. I have my real estate license and am willing to work as an assistant, cleaning, babysitting, to provide for my family. My husband works so I am not sure I can qualify for food stamps at least. Any advice????

What can I do next?

If you're in school you should check with Student Services. They usually have job postings for students (separate from work study). Same token, I worked as a Unit Secretary at one of the local hospitals while I was in pre-nursing / nursing school. Decent pay at about 2k a month for part time (32hrs).

Find something that will work around your school schedule!

In the mean time, check to see if there's an angel food ministry in your area. Very low cost food and NO minimum income requirements.

You might get food stamps but you'll never know unless you apply!

I do not usually recommend this, as I work in this field, but what about applying for cash aid-welfare. You can go to your local social services agency and they can give a monthly amount depending on your family size, as well as food stamps, for up to 6 years while you attend school. There are some requirements, such as hours per week that you must attend, etc, but would be a good option if you qualify. Since your husband is working, you would want to find out how much you would qualify for and if it would be worth it or better to do something part time.

Since you are in nursing school, try to get a part time job at a local hospital.

You have other good credentials with real estate as well. I'd seek out something in the field you are currently in or studying to be in.

Of course, with Back to School coming up, retail shops will behiring for the back to school and holiday season.

Most schools have a community bullitin board. Post up an ad for babysitting or house cleaning.
