Tylenol with Other Meds?

I went on a roller coaster that shook like crazy a few days ago and my back is killing me behind my shoulder. Can I take Tylenol with the Amoxicilin I am already on and my Zyrtec? I need something for this pain and an ice pack isn't doing anything. I may need to get to the chiropractor soon!

What can I do next?

This is a question for a pharmacist, not this site. Drug interactions are not something to mess with.

I often take tylenol with antibiotics and allergy meds.

Buy, ibuprofen may work better since it is an anti-inflammatory - tylenol is just an analgesic.

Also, alternate heat and cold on your back. My chiropractor always told me 20 minutes of heat, 20 minutes of nothing, then 20 minutes of cold.

I have taken Tylenol or Advil while on other meds.

If ice isn't helping, you might try heat.

call the pharmacist. tylenol is very dangerous with many other things... it's super bad for your liver.

Get some Tiger Balm best stuff out there for sore muscles. Keep icing it. I would call a pharmacist and ask but ask about asprin and ibuprofen too. They help with inflamation, tylenol does not.

I would go with Advil or Motrin since those are ibuprofen and you want the swelling to go down. It shouldn't interact with your current meds but you should always ask your pharmacist if you have questions like that.

Arnica is awesome for pain.
Hyland's makes a Bumps and Bruises stick (w/ arnica) for wee ones and I have used it many times. Works wonders.

Actually you need to get an anti-inflammatory med, like Ibuprofen or Alleve. If you've irritated or pulled something, Tylenol isn't going to help. It may help with pain, but won't help it get better. Just google the other meds you're on and it will tell you what you can or can't take with them, but I'm sure these two are fine with what you're taking.

Get to a chiropractor on Monday! Ice (with a gel pack) the pain spot for 15 minutes on and 15 minutes off....repeat throughout the day. Use bengay, Biofreeze or IceHot on area to help relax the muscles. It sounds as though you don't need to add anymore toxins to your body since you are already on Zyrtec and Amoxicillin.....so I would NOT suggest Tylenol or Ibuprofen or Aspirin, etc. Which roller coaster ride? I am a big fan of them and want to amke sure I don't go on that one! Feel better!

I'm pretty sure Amox. doens't have Tylenol (acetaminophen) in it, in which case you can take it. As long as you are not taking double doses of acetaminophen, it will be fine. Just make sure what is in the other meds.
