Trying to Concieve a Girl

My husband and I are thinking about trying 1 last time for a girl. We REALLY want a girl - We love our boys very much but would like to end with another girl. Has anyone tried any of tricks out there to insure a certain sex and if so did it work? My 2 older children are from my 1st marriage so my husband now {who claims the older 2} actually only has a son {with me} and would really like a little girl.

What can I do next?

I'm pretty sure you already know that the only way to guarantee the child will be a girl ... is to adopt a girl.

Even the procedures for in vitro fertilization that are supposed to help select a certain gender don't work often enough to be of much help--and are pretty expensive, too.

Consider the consequences carefully before trying to conceive. What will you do if the baby turns out to be a boy? (Even a sonogram is no guarantee--they are still sometimes wrong about the gender.) I doubt that you would love the child any less based on gender, but for some parents, the disappointment may affect their relationship with the child, so don't discount your (or your husband's) desire for a girl as unimportant.

Good luck!

S.,

Someone had this same question a few weeks ago, so check the
responses there. I read a book called "Determine the Sex of Your Child" - Google that - you'll find it.

Worked for me!

The book by Dr. Shettles-increases gender choice by 85%. The response about timeing, acid and alkaline follows Dr. Shettles research. Google or amazon will point you to the book.

Although it is true that the man's sperem does ultimately decide your baby's gender, a concept which I think most people grasp, the people who addressed different positions and such in their response are also right. There probably isn't a fool proof way without a ton of science, but I do know some people who bought a book on how to have a girl and it breaks down all the stuff about positions and foods to eat, etc. I'm sorry that I don't know what it's called, but I'm sure you can find it on the internet (isn't that true for anything anymore!;)...so good luck, it's worth a shot and it worked for my friends!

There was a similar posting a few weeks ago with a ton of responses so I am pretty certain that you are likely to get a ton of responses too.
I wish you luck on having a girl. I always wanted one, but I ended up with four boys. There is a very small window of opportunity for conception so even with all of the advice out there (and believe me there is lots)there are NO guarantees. I know from experience! NO method is foolproof-I know because I have conceived at various points in my cycle and yet they are all boys. I would not trade my boys for anything. Life is great!
Although I will always miss not having a little girl, I have come to realize that this must be God's plan for our family. My husband and I both wanted girls so this has been an adjustment for both of us. If you really want a girl, adopt. Otherwise, realize that there are NO guarantees and take whatever evolves.
Babies come with a lot of risks. Every baby is a miracle and having a healthy baby is an even greater miracle. Pray for healthy and not for anything else.
I know your desire and I do understand it. I just hope that God has healthy granddaughters in my future! If not, then I will take healthy grandsons! With so many babies out there that are unwanted, neglected, or deformed, I would simply that God for your blessings and pray for a healthy baby - girl or boy.
Best wishes and I hope that you do get the healthy baby girl! K.
