Tattoo for Kids

When my daughter was born I went and got a tattoo on my foot with her name and a pretty flower design. I just had my second daughter a month ago and want to get a tattoo for her as well. I'm debating just adding her to my other tattoo because we want more kids and the way my tattoo is shaped I can only have 2 names with it. So my question is what tattoos have you gotten for your kids or what creative ideas do u have for that kind a tattoo?

What can I do next?

I want to get a tattoo of the outline of India with my son's first name and birthdate in it. He is half Indian and was conceived over there. I haven't decided where I want to get it yet, but I'm thinking either ankle/calf or foot. I've been putting off getting it, because when I got my first tattoo in college, I got a little addicted and got 4 within a few months of each other. I don't have that kind of money to blow anymore! haha

I have never been fond of tattoos altho I admit some can be very artistically beautiful. I dont want one myself. My son has one and claims it is some deep spiritual meaning of his neice's name in some oriental symbols. It is about 2x3 inches on his shoulder blade. I have no idea how to read this writing so for all I know, it says "My sister's kid is a brat".

Don't have a tattoo for my son. Have one, but just for me. :)
But, my old boss has two sons and he had their footprints tattooed one on each shoulder on his back. Very cool looking.

I have my daughter's initials tattooed with some symbols that represent her name on my left shoulder. I am planning to have my second child's initials on my right shoulder sometime after she is born.

My BIL has his oldest son's name across his back, and his twins' names on each arm... it is nice.

I love some of angelina jolie's tattoos... and I think she has the GPS coordinates of the birthplaces of each of her kids tattoed on her arm... very nifty! hehehe..

here is my tattoo... if the link works LOL!

I got a sparrow holding a star in its beak (to me it means loyalty in helping her reach the stars, aka her dreams) and her name and bday is under it. I'd have a different one for every child. I LOVE megan C's tattoo. Like Christine J, people who don't like tattoos like mine too.. it's very colorful and vivid.

I love lesley's idea. I would've gotten that had I thought of it. A mom at our swim class had one print (can't remember if it was handprints or footprints) on each side (and if you have 3 have a print in the middle too) with their names under it.

My husband has a band that goes around his wrist. It has our son's initials and his birth date. It is shaped like one of his favorite watches and people are ALWAYS asking about it. Even people that DON'T like tattoos like it.

I have a Celtic Knot formed into a triangle. We always said we wanted three kids (two of our own and then adopt one)...I have the two known childrens name surround the two outer lines and when we adopt that childs name will go under the base of the triangle. Once that name is there and the base of the triangle our family will be complete.

I have never wanted a tattoo--I'm a total wimp when it comes to pain. However, friend of mine has a heart with a band-aid over it to represent a broken/repaired heart. We both have sons with complex congenital heart defects and if I do ever get one THAT would be the one!

My husband has each of children's names on his arm. I have two different tattoos for them. On my foot I have each of their footprints (the one's from birth) tattooed. We only have two children, so it fit on my foot nicely. I also have their names on my shoulder with a symbol that I think is appropriate for each.

I have 3 tattoos and love them all. I have 4 yr old twins and it took me awhile to decide what I wanted that would "fit" the kids. I have a yin yang sign with both of the kids names worked into it. It is in the grey and black tones and very soft with curls and flowers...not the harsh black and white. I love it...my kids are complete oposites so it is very appropriate!

I have my oldest son's name on my arm with a butterfly at the end of it. I now have two more kids and NEED to get them on my body somewhere but can't decide where. My middle is 5 and I have been thinking for 5 years! I was thinking of adding the 2 youngest names under my oldest but then I think it will be too big a tatoo. I also thought I would put one on the inside of my wrist so I could cover it I needed to. Not sure about where the other one. I also don't want tons of tatoos so I have no idea wich is why I haven't gotten them yet. I don't like leg tatoos so I am limited as I do not want one on my back anywhere....It's such a big decision since they are permanent. I did see a drawing of one that had 3 names that made up a heart wich was pretty cool.

I am getting Lock, Shock and Barrel from the Nightmare Before Christmas across my chest and breast bone.

I had my oldest name up my forearm...not knowing we would have two more in the course of three years...I had his name covered with Jack Skeleton from NMBC.

The movie has such a strong representation in my life. I think it is important not to change who you are, to be something you are not. Lock, Shock and Barrel, although my boys are really nothing like...Still hold strong meaning to me as well.

My oldest I have her name tattooed next to my c-section scar. The scar is vertical and I wanted it over it, but the way it keloid they couldn't - which is good because I ended up having another one! I still need to save the money to get her name either on the other side or there might be room between scar and first tattoo. That one needs some repair work too! I also have my older daughter's name in arabic on my inside ankle. And I have a Pooh with a banner that has her name. So I also have to figure out how to add the little one to the Pooh! and what to do about the arabic name but not the other one! geez! the things we start by tattooing!

I have a small rainbow tattoo on my shoulder w/my husband & oldest daughter's names & for my youngest Haley, I have Haley's comet on my ankle. It all depends on what you feel comfortable with, but honestly if I had know there were going to have been two children in my life, I would've done something together.
