I just moved to Lafayette from S. Cal a month ago. I'm looking for a swimming class for my 4 and 2 year-olds. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

Welcome to Lafayette! It's been quite awhile since my kids took swimming lessons but the ones that clicked for them were the ones at the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center in Walnut Creek. I've also heard people in my Gymboree classes talk about the Sherman Swim School. I think the Sleepy Hollow Swim and Tennis Club in Orinda also does classes for non-members.

People in my classes also talk about Oakwood but I don't know if you need a member to do the lessons there.

I highly recommend Harriet Plummer Aquatic:

both my boys learned to swim there. Fantastic program- but they start at 3 so only the 4 year old would be able to sign up now. Worth every penny- my youngest started last summer at 3 and swims like a fish. :)

Welcome to Lafayette!

the acalanes union high school district offers children's swimming lessons at Acalanes, Miramonte, and Campolindo high schools, starting with parent/child lessons for those age 6 mos-2 years ("Guppies") and parent/child lessons for ages 2-4 years ("minnows") - see
