I never knew pampers had their own version of swim diapers. I think they were called splashers? Has anyone tried these swim diapers and liked them? I have only ever bought lil' swimmers for my friend's kids, but I never paid attention to anything about swim diapers other then they wouldn't have a saggy/puffy diaper in the pool (ew). LOL. Now being a mom I wonder which one is better??? Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone!! If splashers work just as well I will get them (they were on sale and cheaper then the lil swimmers). To the post about reusable swim diapers I have looked into them, but this is for a short notice trip and I would have no clue where to buy them other then on-line (if you have seen them at a store message me which one and I would appreciate it). Last year she just walked through the water, this year we want her to swim in the water. =) Sunflower, Chrystine is right they don't hold pee in, just poop. If they pee it does leak out. I just monitor my lil one on her diapers, and usually she keeps a dry one for a little while after her morning milk. ADDED: I just wanted to add we are going to the beach, so no pool rules to follow. =)

Yes, I used them for my 3 kids, they are great, no saggy or puffy diapers, and they keep "it" in so you won't have to worry about an accident in the pool. And are also very easy to take off. Recommend from one mom to another...hope this helps

from my experience they afrre the same. I get what ever is on sale, or what i have a coupon for.

FYI they do not work like a diaper. the reason they dont poof up is because they do not absorb. DO NOT use as a diaper, you'll get pee every where. Put on right before going in the water-it holds in the poop. and that is all it does.

I've used both Pampers and Huggies brand. I am a total Pampers mom, but I do not like their swim diapers at all!! They do not hold in the mess very well, and every time my boys have worn them they leak. I use Huggies now and love them.

I have only used the Splashers so I can't compare to anything else, but I really like them. They don't get puffy at all and have always worked really well for my daughter. As I said before, I can't compare them to anything else since I haven't tried anything different, but I would recommend them. I haven't had a problem yet.

We buy reusable swim diapers because the swim program my son is in doesn't allow the disposables, the last ones (we generally double them up) I bought were from www.onestepahead.com and they're super cute.

The best swim diaper is actually a swimsuit that has a little lined plastic pair of underwear in it that you can put your child in his or her regular diaper. In other words there is no need for special expensive diapers. I bought mine from a local baby consignment store for $4.00. At that price I bought a few of them at different sizes.

Consider buying cloth diapers.....you can get them online. You will only need 1 (or 2) per each size and that cuts down on the cost, as well as trash. They also won't puff and get saggy b/c they are more sturdy than the disposables.

Here's an example. http://www.wildflowerdiapers.com/store/pc/viewCategories....

there are lots out there...that's just one of the more popular ones. I now use last year's diapers on my first son.....rinse them (if it's just pee) and hang them out when you are on vacation and they are ready to go the next day.

As a couple of others said, if you start swimming regularly, whatever pool you go to may have specific rules. Despite the fact that my daughters are fully potty trained, our pool requires a disposable swim diaper covered with cloth swim diaper under their bathing suit until they are 4 years old. Seems overkill, but pool closures are a bummer for everyone.

I have only used Huggies little swimmers, but Im sure they are
all comparable. If Pampers are cheaper, I would try those. And for the
people telling you to buy cloth. My kids are in swim lessons and they
are potty trained. The pool requires swim diapers and the cloth swim diaper over them until they reach 4 years. So some people dont have the option of only buying the cloth or using the diaper built into the suit. Im just saying.
Go for the Pampers and have fun swimming

I have twin toddlers and was thinking of getting them lil swimmers, I have never heard of anything else. But I was wondering...if they dont get puffy with water, where does the pee go? out along with the water? I'm confused :/
I don't mean to sound stupid, sorry!

Sorry this is a bit late, but I use reusable swim diapers. Swimming lessons at my pool requires them. But, I don't understand the responses stating that they need a cloth swim diaper over the disposable one. The reason for a cloth swim diaper is so you don't need a disposable. The one which my pool recommends is the i-play (which you can get at Target). They're inexpensive & cute. They're snug around the legs and waist for holding in poo. ANY swim diaper will NOT hold pee.....even sposies once they're wet. The main goal of a swim diaper is to hold in poo, not pee. Even older kids will pee in the pool so you know regardless, there will be pee in pools (that's what chlorine is for). We go to the beach often and I see little ones with their sopping wet disposable swim diaper on while they're playing at the beach for hrs. Yuck!

A couple more REALLY cute reusable swim diapers which we have is Bummis and Imse Vimse. Love them!
