Does anyone happen to know of someplace that offers some sort of summer camp for 5-year olds? I just registered my 11-year old at the Discovery College but I have one about to turn 5 that I would like to sign up for something. He is already going to be going to Summer Fun Days every other day, for a few weeks at preschool but I'd like to do something else for him. We looked into the Mad Science courses but we can't swing $210 for a week's classes. We live in NW Houston off of 290 near the new outlet mall. Any suggestions???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for the ideas you sent my way. I did check into the YMCA, and will be trying to figure out where to come up with the extra money in the budget ($330 per week for 2 children). Other then that, I have signed them up for Summer Fun Days at their preschool for the 2 weeks it is offered. It runs right around the VBS schedule but if I can coordinate the scheduling, I will put them into VBS as well.

There is a Ymca branch in Cypress on 249 that has a lot of summer programs for all ages.

Check out Crossbridge Christian Church preschool. They are doing several summer camp activities. They are located on West Road just west of Hwy 6.

You might call your neighborhood YMCA. I'm pretty sure they have summer day programs for 5 year olds, and their fees are usually pretty reasonable.

The YMCA has by far the best summer camping experience around. I take my kids to the one on Cypresswood and 249. If it is more than you can afford, they will give you a scholarship. You would have to go register now so that they can get this in motion. It's safe, fun, Christian atmousphere and diverse.
Enjoy!

Leave room open for VBS (vacation Bible school) at many local churches. They are inexpensive & fun. Cypress United Methodist has a great program. ###-###-####, Judy Gober is the children's ministry director & she will be able to tell you this year's dates. My kid's loved it & loved working it when they got into midddle school. My son did the robotics class at Discovery college & had a blast.
