Stroller- Metrolite Or ???

I am looking for a stroller that you snap a graco snugride into and do not really want to go with a huge travel system or a snap and go frame. I have looked at the metro lite and liked it, but not sure how sturdy the wheels are. Just wondering if any loves or hates the metro lite or if there is something else you love that the snugride fits into. I think we will later add a second one that is more all terrain, unless there is a great one that is not to heavy or big and can accommodate the car seat. Suggestions please and thank you!

What can I do next?

Snap-n-go was the best... I avoided the whole stroller system - too big, bulky and heavy! The snap-n-go worked well in crowded situations - fit between the clothing racks in the stores, and was really light and easy to manage one-handed getting it out of the car and open. I could have afforded something much bigger and more stylish, but I didn't need the hassle!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED my Kolcraft Universal car seat carrier. It's got a huge basket that's easy to access... the wheels really hold up.......and it's easy to unfold w/ one hand... (and fold up) It was also the only thing that fit in the trunk of my tiny Toyota Yaris. I am so sad that my son outgrew his infant carseat... now we use a tiny Baby Trend stroller... and another Kolcraft little stroller.

Oh yeah... I forgot... there are 2 cupholders and a little compartment to place your keys, etc... All I added were two Mommy hooks and a stroller bag I made and I was set!

I tried the Maclaren Easy Rider and thought I would chop off my finger opening the thing....and it was SOOO wide... I returned it... I bought the Graco carseat carrier and returned it because I couldn't get to the basket w/out removing the carseat... Then- I returned my carseat, bought the car seat carrier and tried every carseat in Baby's R Us until I found one that fit. (Our Chico Keyfit 30 fit like a glove) It doesn't snap in, but this thing didn't go anywhere.... The platform held it up slugly in between the two bars... They have a strap you can use if you're really worried, but we never did...

I have a frame you can have for free if you want. The basket and cupholders are missing. (I sent the basket in to get a free replacement after 1 year of use...) and took the cupholders off to install in another stroller... but- you can at least take it to the stores and try out carseats. It's perfectly funcitonal... but doesn't have the accessories.

Just PM me if you want it... I live in Williamstown. (My son is 13 months... we no longer need it... and have a replacement for if we ever have another child)

I've been using the Metrolite since 2006 - now preparing for our 3rd child and we love it. The tires are actually rubber instead of plastic which I thought was a bonus. Have had no issues other than the hood/roof getting dirty and it can't be removed to be washed. Drinks in the cup holders on top tend to splash/spill a bit and get on the hood. No issue otherwise.

I loved our Metro lite. I used it a lot with 2 kids and it stood the test of time. I like how light it is and easy to fold. Works great with the snugride.

We have the Peg Pergo, Aria. The car seat doesn't snap in but sits right where a tollers butt will be. Very secure. It weighs less than 10 lbs and you can cloase it with one hand. I love it! Goodluck.

You really have to consider what you will be doing with it. If you're looking for something to put in and out of the car for going to the mall, restaurants, etc. get a Snap and Go. We had a Metrolite which I loved, but we ruined it jamming it in and out of the car. (We have a smallish car)

If you're looking for something for walking around the neighborhood, going to park, etc. get the Metrolite. It is a great stroller, I wish we hadn't ruined ours.

Also... keep in mind that the time frame for strolling in the car seat is really only 0 - 8 mos. MAX. Once baby can sit up, he/she will not want to lay down in the car seat and stroll. Having said that... if you can afford both, its totally worthwhile. Just buy an expensive snap frame online. We have both (and a double stroller, and two umbrella strollers!) and have used them all.

i really liked the metrolite, its so much lighter than other travel systems. i know someone said it was huge, but they must be the quattro tour. the metrolite really is a great size. never had a problem with wheels, but whats nice about graco is usually you can buy replaceable wheels and put them on yourself if something did happen. sometimes, manufacturers have it so you have to go to a dealer.

i agree that you should def get a different stroller for the neighborhood walks and parks and grass areas. it will just be easier to manuever and keep the metrolite in good condition. but i would say that even if you were planning on a bugaboo:)

the only thing i will recommend is to make sure you get one that has the three position one hand reclined. i know there is one that has a drawstring, but the one handed lift and pull was better imo.

you could get a snap and go but then you will still need a stroller, so you would need 2 right now not counting an all terrain. the issue i have with a snap and go is that is forcing you to always have the baby in the car seat since most cars cant fit 2 strollers at once comfortably. if you have a travel system, you can interchange travel system with regular stroller. good luck

If you're just looking for the carseat, not for the future of no-carseat, you might reconsider getting a snap-n-go. It saved my back so many times, and I can't tell you how easy it is to get that out of the trunk (I could do it one-handed, and I particularly loved it once I was using it for my second baby- so easy to maneuver while holding a toddler's hand!) and the carseat into it. The lite is great if you'll be using it beyond carseat, but if you're thinking about right now, the frame was one of the best things I ever used for my kids!

Honestly, the snap-n-go is best. I hated how HUGE those metrolites (and similar travel system strollers were). And the Graco one I had with my first child had the wheel snap off.

I did get a fabulous deal on a 3 wheeler on Amazon that fits my snugride! It was $80 and free shipping and still works awesome. Made by Instep.

I now have a Keekaroo Karoo. I was so thrilled with it I became a retailer for the line.

Loved my Snap and Go, and they are like $25 on Craigslist or at Once Upon a Child. It will get you through the first 6-8 months, and by then you will have a better idea what you want for a bigger stroller. And if you buy it used, you can usually sell it for what you bought it for!
