I had a friend help with baby stamps from Stampin Up. We were able to stamp all the pieces, do most of the work (stamp and address envelopes, color in stamps, etc) and then when my son was born she printed the card and I enclosed the pic and out they went! So darling and no one has an annoucement that looks like ours. It gave me something to "nest" on towards the end. Loved it so much that we did Rubber Ducky themed invites for his first birthday! Good luck!

You can go to www.vistaprint.com. They are very inexpensive and have deals all the time. I just got some postcards made for my business for free (all I paid for was shipping). You can upload a photo to print on announcements as well. Hope this helps.

They have some really cute baby-themed specialty papers at Kinko's. You can do the text on your computer and print them out. They look every bit as good as some of the professional ones.

I've used VistaPrint.com with great success, and you can often get really good discounts on their items by receiving their emails. They have plenty of options for uploading your own photos and other graphics, and customization, so I think it's a great way to do announcements.

Good luck!

I know alot of places will do an announcement with a digital photo incorporated or JCpenny or Sears will do them and take a photo. I had a friend send me one and it was the cutest thing. JCPENNY is where she got hers done. But try yahoo photos, snapfish or even CVS i think will use your photo and make you something. If you are looking for just a simple paper typed announcement. I know Target has cute paper, so does Michael's and Hobby lobby. But, the photo types are sooooo cute!

I made my own birth announcements. Bought the blank decorated paper at Staples (baby blue with slightly darker blue polka dots and a blue ribbon to go through the pre-punched holes) and printed them on my computer. I made them custom with mine and hubby's name, both sets of grandparents and big sister, date of birth, weight, length and location. I received a ton of compliments on them and people even asked where I ordered them from.... I think total cost for 50 announcements (before postage) was around $25-30.. Hope that helps a little...~S.

Congrats!
The digital photo thing works best. There are a bunch of online photo centers, but I've used Sams.com or Snapfish.com or photoworks.com. They all have greeting card or announcement options. Pick an announcement, upload your photo, and your order can be sent to your house within a few days. They should send envelopes too, so you don't have to worry about purchasing them separately. Some of these places also mail them for you. However, I prepared an address list in advance and printed address labels.
We simply uploaded our photos soon after we came home from the hospital. When the announcements arrived all I had to do was stuff the envelopes and slap on an address label and a stamp. It was sooooo easy.

I got the cards that had velumn and ribbon I took a black & white picture and hand printed his name, date of birth, etc. I got the cards from Party City. Also, if you know someone that has an Apple computer Iphoto does really cute ones you pick the theme, put in the picture, they print them and send them to you.

If you like the announcements that use photos of your child, you can't find a better place than sassybabydesigns.com. They are really good! It's very hard to find announcements like these if not impossible unless you do it yourself. And they will walk you through the whole process if you don't know how to even get started on something like that. Go look at the website.
