Seeking Recommendations for Preschools

Hi everyone, my son will be attending McAuliffe Elementary school in the Cupertino School District on Prospect near Lawrence Expressway. I am required to volunteer there 4 hours a week. During that time I need to put my 4 year old in preschool. Can anyone recommend a preschool near there? I hope many of you respond, because I value what so many of you say in mamasource.

What can I do next?

I don't know that area but here's the referral agency for child care/preschool in your county: www.4c.org.

My daughter attended 2 preschools (and will be startign kindergarten in August, yikes!). I highly recommend World of Discovery. It is located on the Saratoga High School campus. Terri, the director, is wonderful. They have a Tues/Thurs schedule that would work for you & it is reasonably priced.

They have a HS Buddies program where the HS students enrolled in child psych classes work at the preschool one day & the kids love this. It's one-on-one attention from the HS kids, who help with craft projects & pretty much everything else.

I really can't say enough good things about it. I registered throught he Los Gatos Saratoga recreation department: www.lgsrecreation.org

Good luck & welcome to the Bay Area!

My son went to Montecito Preschool in Los Altos on Grant Road. They have an afternoon enrichment program that is open to everyone. Your child doesn't have to be a student there to use it. I'm not how close this is to your other child's school.

I sent my daughter to Action Day
www.actiondayprimaryplus.com
( Lincoln 13m-25m then Moorepark 26m- 4y11m)

and was VERY happy (I wish I could have sent my daughter to their private k-8). My daughter never wanted to leave school, and I was happy with all the extra programs we could opt into. She started kindergarten MORE than ready.

Welcome to SJ! I know that "little finger" of SJ well -- went to Lynbrook and my inlaws still live about a block from Murdock Park (mine are about 2 miles away in Cupertino). My son went to University Preschool (part of Action Day) just down the street from Saratoga High School when he was the same age as your younger child. We were very happy with it; it's very small compared to the other AD campuses and I still see a lot of the teachers at his buddies' birthday parties.

I have a friend (oddly, her daughter goes to McAuliffe, right about 9 or 10 yo) who had her daughter in a preschool that she *loved* over in your neck of the woods. Just drove past it today -- it's called Future Assets. My friend loved that place; her daughter went to daycare there, then also did the private K onsite.

Good luck! If you have any questions about the area feel free to shoot me an email.
