Seeking Pediatrician Connected with Edwards Hospital

My son is 8 months old and I am very disatified with his current doctor. She thought he had meseales which is fine but she contacted the Center for Disease Control before even sending him for blood test. Long story short after a long week for myself and friends/family he only had a fever rash and thrush (which the ER doctor told me).

I need another doctor in the Lisle/Bolingbrook area. Any suggestions would be great. I love Edwards Hospital so if they are connected with them that would be great.

Thanks moms

We go to Children's Health Partners in Naperville. They are affiliated with Edward Hospital and ALL the doctors in that practice are great. I was just there yesterday and saw that they are taking new patients at this time.

I have a doctor that I currently use for my 8 month old daughter. I am in love with him. He is not specifically a pediatrician. He is our family doctor and is the only doctor my daughter has ever been to. He is certified to treat children and when anything comes up that he is not 100% positive about, he does everything he can get you the best care possible. He has young children himself so has recently gone through everything you are. His name is Dr. James Cunnar. He is out of DuPage Family Medicine in Naperville. The address is 1012 W. 95th Street and the phone number is ###-###-####. One of the things I like is that no matter what happens, we can always walk in to see him, he makes time to make sure all our questions are answered, and he has email where you can send him a note asking questions for things that you don't feel you need to see him in person for. He really is great and I am happy to be continuing to see him for myself and my daughter. I hope this helps.

I second the vote for General Pediatrics in Downers Grove and Naperville. We also really like Dr. Froehlich, but the other Dr's, especially Dr. Pollack and Dr. Steinken are also wonderful. WE've been going there since my 4 year old was born. Always very responsive. I've even just walked when they opened up one morning with a concern about my son and they got a nurse to check my son and fit him in to see the doctor right away.

We love Naperville Pediatrics ###-###-####. They are very gentle and kind. Believe it or not they even have Sunday morning hours for sick ones. Recently my ex changed insurance plans and we can no longer go there (these are the only docs my 13 year old has ever known). I am almost distraught about making the change. Last night, my 16 yo daughter went to see the new doc. all she could do was compare, and it was all negative - I agreed with her.

Hello All!
I second the suggestion of General Pediatrics. Our family travels 45min to an hour to get to them from Plainfield. It is WELL worth it! They are adding an office on October 3rd here in Plainfield off of Naper Plainfield RD. They now have 7 docs 9variety of styles and both male and female) and my kids like them all but have their favorites. I have 4 kids ages 4 months, 10, 13, and 15. Their office staff, nurse practitioner and nurses are all GREAT! I have never felt like they did not listen to us or like they rushed us. They are always on time and we get in and out quickly. Thus, no long wait in the waiting room. 3 of my 4 kids have had serious illnesses or injuries (cancer, cranial fracture and a multicystic kidney) and each has been treated VERY well with great follow up. Their Naperville number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps!
Take Care,
M.

Another vote for DuPage Medical Group General Pediatrics! I didn't really have a ped picked out and then had to deliver my twins 8 weeks early and my OB actually recommended them! We primarily see Dr. Murphy - but have also seen Dr. Froelich and Dr. Steinken - both were great as well! My son had a lot of medical issues - and they have been FANTASTIC with both of my kids, getting appointments the same day, etc. We go to their office in Naperville - on Ogden! I lvie in Romeoville as well - and it doesn't take too long to get there- maybe 20 minutes?
I highly recommend them!

I have been taking both of my children to ABC Pediatrics in Naperville since they were born(so about 4 years). Our primary doctor is Dr. Law whom we love but I would feel good about recommending any of the doctors. The things I like about the practice are:

* Easy to get a sick appointment same day. They try to put you in with your primary doctor but if another doctor has a more convenient time slot you can go to them.
* They give you alot of information about alot of different areas of development and parenting at each well visit.
* There is a phone nurse that you can talk to about anything from sunscreen questions to fever. I have always been called back within the hour even if it's not an urgent question
*They have Saturday hours. Basically they are open from 8:30 until the last patient is seen(only for sick visits)

They are right near Rickert and 75th St. They have a website www.abcpediatrics.net

We see the doctors at Children's Health Partners in Naperville (www.childrenshealthpartners.com). They normally aren't accepting new patients, but they just added another doctor to the group and have room for a few more patients now. Good luck!

Hi M.,
I take my children to Dr. James Pera on Rt 59 and 103rd St. He is part of Dr. Michael Reichert's Pediatric group and I just love the practice. Dr. Pera really has a great way with my boys and he has a low key approach which I appreciate. Other great aspects of their office are that they have separate sick and well waiting rooms, Saturday office hours, great triage nurses and a very kind and accommodating front office staff.
Their number is ###-###-####.
Good luck.

I am on my third pediatric group in the area. I am finally satisfied! Just like the other posted said - I LOVE ABC Pediatrics on 75th Street in Naperville. I use Dr. Law as our primary doctor in that office - she is out on maternity leave right now though. I have been very happy with the entire staff and all the doctors.

Dr. Kristine Libery and Dr. Kovar. They are at the Edward building on 127th in Plainfield. ALWAYS same day apts and their staff is wonderful. I just switched my kids there this past year and have been very happy.

I hear Dr. Olsen is also great, however, your kids have to have started at birth for them to be seen at that practice....

I can't say enough about Dr. Joseph Russell in Plainfield at Rt. 59 and Plainfield/Naperville Rd. He has patients that drive for more than an hour to se him as they love him and his nurse so much! He has been in practice for 20+ years adn is so up to date on the latest medical issues. Very personable and really listens to the parents. He is out of Dupage Medical Center and is on call at Edwards. Love him!

General Pediactrics are great. I really like Dr Froelich, but they are all very nice. They have an office in Downers Grove by Good Sams Hospital and they have an office in Naperville on Ogden. They belong to Edwards and Good Sams. I have three kids ( 8, 6/12, 2) and they have been teh best for them. I remember when my older son was younger, I think he was about 3, he had gotten the flu... both types ( A and B) Dr Froelich took her time with us. She even gave me her home phone number in case I nneded her through the weekend. She is not quick to diagnose something if its not. They have been wonderful and always try to fit oyu in if they can.
I have had so many experiences with them, and all great ones.
If you want to ask me questions feel free to emial me. ____@____.com

Good luck

Hi,

We go to Millenniun Pediatrics in Naperville. 95th and Naper/Plainfield Road. My boy's (4 and 6) primary Dr. is Dr. Olsen. He is down to earth and has young kids of his own so he really knows how to make the kids feel at ease. We have been seeing him since out younger son was born. There are 3 dr's in the practice and I think 3 Nurse practitioners. Easy to get an appt. Can call same day for sick visits and they get you in that day! They are affiliated with Edward hospital. Their # is ###-###-####
