Seeking Muslim Women for More Information

I am very interested in Islam and am seriously considering converting. I have not been able to find the information I am seeking when I call local mosques, they are not helpful at all. Basically I would like to go to a mosque to see what it is like and talk to someone. For example, if you go to a Catholic church someone is there to show you the church and teach you how to be a good Catholic. Perhaps there is someone who is willing to introduce me to this?

What can I do next?

Hi S.,

I am a muslim living in Frisco. We attend the Plano mosque usually but also go down to Richardson when we're in the area. Both these mosques have programs for people interested in finding out more about Islam. Plano mosque is in fact doing an Islam 101 series. Don't know if its finished yet. The Plano mosque website is http://www.planomasjid.org and their phone number is ###-###-####. If you have any other questions you can always contact me here. Hope this helps.

I would love to talk with you about my relationship with Jesus. It's not a religion, or a set of rules to live by that will magically give me a peace. Instead, after growing up in a large denominational church which was filled with (what I felt was hypocrisy) I ended up desperately wanting love and acceptance. I found that through a Christian non-denominational Bible study with a group of imperfect women who had a joy and peace that I wanted. It's more than a head knowledge of who Jesus is and what the Bible says... it's a personal relationship with the very Son of God who loves me as I am - and died for me and you. Would love to talk...

ps I now go to that same denomination that I had spurned earlier, but that's not what saved me - just where I meet to be encouraged, fed, and to serve others.

I am not Muslim, but I drive by a mosque every day that has a sign outside welcoming people to come on Saturdays to learn more about Islam. I don't remember the name, but it is located on Kelly Blvd. and I believe Country Club Drive. It's on Kelly in between Beltline and Keller Springs. It's fairly new.

I hope this helps.

Hello S.,
Out of curiosity I would like to know why you intend to convert. I am not muslim but I am Egyptian and come from a country where over 90% of the population is Muslim. I am very familiar with Islam and its beliefs but I would like to answer your questions the best to my ability and offer you an alternative perspective on Islam. I am not trying to vere you away from your goal in any respect but I do have lots of knowlegede and experience on Islam and the Middle Eastern culture bc I am Egyptian so I may be able to help. I also have alot of Muslim friends that would gladly show you around the mosque and talk to you.I enjoy having friendly religious conversations about different types of religion. I am Coptic Orthodox Christian and would like to talk with you.
Sincerly,
Isabel

I would love to show you around my church in Plano -- Fellowship Bible Church North. We are a Christian non-denominational Bible church and we LOVE visitors! I'd love to show you around and introduce you to other moms there. If you're seeking a place of worship, FBCN is such a great place to grow spiritually and it really helps you find the answers to the big questions in life. They offer many classes so you can learn more in small group discussion settings -- anyone can attend these (not necessarily "members"). I have really found this church to be a great place to connect with other young families and to feel at peace with my relationship with Christ. I am sooo happy God led me to this church!

Visit www.fbcnorth.org for more info. And PLEASE feel free to email me back (____@____.com) if you'd like to meet up at the church to try out a worship service -- Fridays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and Noon.

I'm praying that God will led you to the perfect place of worship for you and your family!
God bless,
A.

Hi, S.:

I'm not a Muslim, but as an anthropologist I do know quite a bit about Islam and the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed. Have you checked out http://www.whyislam.org ? Also, I'm a member of Naseeb.com, which is a social networking website for Muslims; you don't have to be Muslim to join, but I have a lot of Muslim friends (although they don't live in this area). Its at http://www.naseeb.com .

Best of luck in your spiritual search!

S.,
I don't know who you are...but I'm praying for you. I don't know your reasons for seeking Islam or anything about you...but I'm praying for you. S., you'll never experience true peace in your heart until you realize that Jesus is the only way. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to The Father but by me." Everyone who was ever born has sinned and does not deserve peace while they are on earth or heaven after we die. Only because of Jesus dying on the cross and bearing our sins are we able to accept this free gift. There is nothing we can ever do to earn our way into happiness and eventually into heaven. If you are seeking "truth" in your life, I would challenge you to read the the Book of John in the New Testament. If you are seeking, God will give you the answers. If you ever want to learn more about The Bible or Jesus, please respond back to this email. And, again, I'm praying that in your search you find Jesus. L.

S.,

I truly respect your request for seeking this religion out. I would urge you, however, to really pray to God about this. I know you don't know me but I would encourage you to really check out this religion and any other religion against Christianity. One website that might be helpful for you is http://answering-islam.org.uk/ I found alot of interesting informtation on it. It may answer many questions you have. I will pray for you this week that you may discover what to do.
