I am 12 weeks into my second pregnancy…is it normal to feel bigger and look bigger earlier the second time around? My weight is going to different places this time around; I am starting to feel and look very uncomfortable with myself; I enjoy going to the gym, but these last 6 to 7 weeks I have been sick and not feeling well; this pregnancy seems a lot tougher…is this all normal (do not get me wrong...I am thrilled to have baby #2!!!!)?

What can I do next?

I definitely showed much faster with my 2nd pg (I was pg with twins though too) but, I was showing by 9 weeks. With my 3rd pg with a singleton, I was around 10-11 weeks and in maternity pants already. Other pants just weren't comfortable anymore.

I'm in the same boat, but I never got the chance to lose the weight I gained with the first baby as I got pregnant about 4 months after the birth of my son. I feel like a Thanksgiving Float!
With my son, I hardly had morning sickness, but this one made me sick everyday, thankfully it has subsided now that I am in the second trimester. Hopefully it will do the same for you! Good luck!

You definately start to show and grow faster with the second. The good news is you also start to feel the baby faster -- I felt movement at 11 weeks.

I think the biggest difference is that you cannot rest as much as you could with the first b/c you have the second around needing you.

Hi M.,
I was the same way with my second. I was never sick when pregnant with number 1 but with number 2 I felt sick through the first and second trimester. With my first I didn't wear maternity clothes until 5 1/2 months. With my second it was about 10 weeks. I couldn't believe it. Overall though I only gained 22 pounds with my second. I think part of the reason I felt differently is that with my first I worked full time but I could come home and take a nap or relax. With my second I was a stay at home mom that had a very active 2 year old. I didn't have the luxury of relaxing whenever I wanted. Make sure to drink lots of water and saltines were my best friend. Good luck and congrats!!
Chris

Well, my second pregnancy I had triplets so I am not one to go by. BUT if you happen to be having twins or more (don't choke), I would be more than happy to give you the information for your local mothers of twins (multiples) group. It is a support group for mothers of twins, triplets and more.

Yes maam...sorry to say. Your body 'knows what to do' and does it earlier, so I've been told by the docs. I started looking pregnant right about the time the second line showed up on the pg test! LOL Ok, not really but it seemed like it...it's amazing how much pregnancy can vary from one to another in the same mom!

Of course, anything alarming you should see your doc, but Im sure you already know that!

Oh honey, it is so normal. My first pregnancy was a piece of cake. I felt so good and never was uncomfortable at all! The second time around I started showing much earlier and by the end, I couldn't take it anymore. I was huge (also had a 9lb boy inside!) and I had so many more aches and pains the last trimester. Second time around your body is loosened up and ready to go. Yep, it's normal! Enjoy it all you can. :)
