Second Pregnancy - Feel SO Out of It!

Hi moms, I am about 16 weeks along in my second pregnancy. I'm having REALLY bad pregnancy brain this time around. Like, sometimes I just have trouble remembering simple words, I forget where I'm going when I'm driving, etc. I also feel like my vision is worse this time around. I know changes are normal, but I just feel like things are sort of more fuzzy/weird and that my peripheral vision has decreased. It is just all around hard for me to focus on things, literally and figuratively. What is going on?

What can I do next?

Talk with your OB/GYN, B..

Get checked for pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, etc.

I would call today. While pregnancy brain is somewhat normal, not all women experience it, double visions and dizziness/fuzziness is NOT normal. And your vision?? Didn't have that problem either!

Good luck!

I had that happen to me too. It was just hormones and it went away. Hang in there! Talk to your doctor about it at your next checkup.

Pregnancy brain...normal....worse with 2nd kid? Definitely! Because you have #1 to take care of too! The vision worries me. Have your BP checked. Like...not in a month when your next appointment is, go tomorrow, or if you or a close friend or family member has a machine or can do this for you, that would be ideal. I had sky high BP with my second, it can be very serious! Vision is one of the first things to go when you start to have complications, and for me...even with sky high BP, I didn't even have vision loss. Please find out and notify your doctor right away if it seems even a little high. Good luck!

Your vision CAN get worse during pregnancy. Wait about three months after your pregnancy is over before getting your eyes tested to see if they go back to normal versus needing new glasses. But it's normal what you're going through.

The other stuff... the difficulty focusing and remembering and I'll bet you're more tired too... all normal. Remember that this time around you're chasing around an older child. You have more to remember due to having a child already this time than you did the first time. More to do physically that you can't ignore and take a nap whenever you need to take one.
