SAHM Seeking Playgroup 2-4 Yr Olds...

Hi, I have twin girls who turned 3 in July. I am a SAHM and would love to get them together for playtime with older 2's, 3's and younger 4's?? I cannot afford for them to go to school just now and thought a playgroup would get them socialized outside of the activities they now have. I live in the Marsh Ln./Walnut Hill Ln. area and would love to get together soon!

What can I do next?

It sounds like you'd love a mom's club! Try www.momsclub.org for one near you or www.mops.org. I started play groups in my neighborhood by putting out signs and we now have 40 members!

E., you live in the perfect area to join North Dallas Early Childhood PTA (NDECPTA). I joined when my first child was a year old, and continued until my second child was entering first grade (about 8 years). It was a wonderful experience! You'll meet so many great moms and you can sign up for playgroups and other activities that you may be interested in. I highly recommend going to their roundup.

Looks like you have a whole bunch of responses suggesting the North Dallas Early Childhood PTA - so let me add my suggestion/vote as well.
Go to Northaven park (next to Withers elementary just west of Midway on Northaven) this Thursday between 9:30 and 11 - we're having a membership drive - you can meet mom's and find out more. I have loved being a part of this group and my 2 year old enjoys our playgroup - all the kids are within 3 months of each other in age.

It's only $35 to join and there are monthly meetings with great speakers and a chance to socialize (and childcare). There's mom's nights out, book club, afternoon and morning coffees/get togethers. It's a great way to meet mom's in this area... most live between Forest and NW Hwy and Midway and Webb Chapel. Hope to see you there.

Have you tried any Mom's groups or Early Childhood PTA's? I'm a part of Preston Hollow ECPTA and I bet there a few moms that would get together with you. We have a few members that live over that way. Please check out our website at PHECPTA.org Our first meeting is this Monday and you are more than welcome to visit.

E.,
I love my mothers of multiples group in Fort Worth (fwmoms.org). They are a great source for playgroups and interaction with other moms. If you google Mother of Multiples TX you will see all of the Texas Mothers of Multiples groups in TX. There's one in North Dallas - ndmotc.org and I'm pretty sure there is one in the Hurst/Euless/Bedford area mcmoms.org and Plano pamom.org.

They are a great source for playgroups, and support for SAHM's and others!

Try www.meetup.com If that doesn't work, you are more than welcome to make the drive up to Carrollton and join our group. We have several kids just turning 3 this month and next and the rest are mostly older 2's along with a few much younger siblings. We usually meet every Friday morning and once in a while other days - usually in Carrollton, but sometimes in the surrounding area. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CarrolltonMoms/

You should check out the North Dallas Early Childhood PTA. It is a group of moms with kids under the age of 5 or 6. They could help you find a playgroup with people in your area and the right age range. They also have meetings and other events each month. Round up (the membership drive) is this Thursday. You should check it out - http://ndecpta.com/

E.,there is a great group of women called the north dallas early childhood pta that will have roundup on this thursday at northaven park. you should go by and see what they have to offer. I was part of the group for 7 years, it was wonderful to make friends with other mothers with kids the same age. They set up playgroups with moms that have kids your age, in addition to meetings on topics that are dear to mothers' hearts.

Hi E.,
I live in Flower Mound and am in a mothers group in my area...http://www.greaterlewisvillemothersandmore.org/. They have a ton of playgroups and the people are really nice. I also have 3 year old twins (boys) and a daughter who is 7. I stay at home, but my boys go to pre school a couple of days a week (only for 3 hrs per day). If your willing to come up my way every now and then your welcome to come by our crazy house for a play date! When the weather gets nicer we've got lots of parks around too. : )
Take care-
M.
