Like many others, I would recommend going to a high end running store (Luke's Locker, Run On) for a fitting. You don't have to buy there but the experience is worth the extra few $'s you will pay there versus Academy or Sports Authority. Luke's and Run On are also more likely to have Wide sizes available in the store versus having to special order/order online.

I've found that Saucony makes the widest shoes, but prefer Asics because they are narrower in the heel and feel better on my feet.

I'm a runner and am always in running or athletic shoes. I love my Asics!! I have the Kayano for running and a Trail running shoe for normal activity.

I have no personal knowledge but have talked to two women on separate occasions who have tried the new sketchers and like them. I don't think they are running shoes however.

Probably the best thing you can do is to find a store in your local area that specializes in running. We have one here called the "Running Company" that was founded by former Olympic marathon runners.

They'll have you get on a treadmill so they can see how your foot moves and recommend a shoe based upon its width as well as the physics of your motion.

I laughed the first time someone recommended it, and I'll never go anywhere else. Because I wear orthotics, my podiatrist is very specific that I need to be in non-stability shoes. I then pick the brand based upon what they have in stock and what's most comfortable.

My husband also has wide feet. Saucony tend to do well for him as well as Asics and Brooks.

Oasics. There is a store on Mockingbird that sells them and a man that will fit you perfectly, but I can't remember the name of either! If you are interested let me know and I'll ask my friend who recommended it to me.

I'm a runner and I've had great experiences at Luke's Locker in the shops of legacy (Plano)...they also just opened one up in Allen in the new Watter's Creek shopping center. Good luck.

I was fitted by Run On. It was great. They do it for free; you do not have to buy shoes from them either. I tried one of the two recommended shoes, it bothered me within the first ten minutes of a workout so I stopped as they instructed, returned them with NO hassle and bought the other ones they suggested.....perfect fit. Now I know what type of feet/gait I have so I am a better consumer and can run some which I haven't been able to do since I was in a car wreck....shoes make all the difference.

The Run On near me is at Lake Forest and Eldorado in McKinney.

Asics have been the best athletic shoe for me. I also get fitted at a "Runner's shoe store". You can't beat it!
