I'm tired of reading. I want pregnancy information in video form. The only one I can find is the documentary 40 Weeks, which won't be released until later this year. Are there other documentaries or movies that I get through Netflix or streaming?

What can I do next?

R., go to your library's website and use their search engine to find dvds on pregnancy, childbirth and newborn care. They do have them; you may have to put some on hold.

You could also just take a short class on infant care-- most hospitals/health care systems do offer them. We had that intro in our birthing classes...are you already enrolled? That would be another nice thing- I found that although I knew a lot of this stuff already (taking care of newborns as a nanny), it was great to go be with other prospective parents as well.

What exactly are you looking for? When I was pregnant with my first I had exactly two books on pregnancy and birth, and a third one specifically all about breastfeeding. I felt like between those few books and what I learned from my doctor I was pretty much covered in terms of what to expect.
I mean, if you still have questions there must be PLENTY of info online. If you have SPECIFIC questions or concerns you really should be talking to your doctor.

There is a three part series called Pregnancy For Dummies, that is probably available somewhere. I found it a bit condescending, but there is some basic information in a very accessible presentation. You could also try The Business of Being Born, that one is on Netflix, but it definitely has an agenda. Try contacting a local birthing center, they often have lending libraries.

I don't know, but just will say, please focus on reading about caring for a newborn and breastfeeding if you plan to. It is hard to cram in your newborn reading when exhausted, clueless and frustrated.
