Julia is likely right. I had that nerve pain with my 2nd daughter and it was horrible! It was so bad that I couldn't move sometimes. I would just drop to the floor and have to crawl back to bed. I didn't have nausea with it, but lots of people get nausea with pain, so that makes sense.

The pain you're describing sounds like sciatica, which would be caused by the baby laying on a nerve. Since you just had the urine specimen drawn with a catheter, I would also be concerned about a UTI- symptoms include frequent painful urination, nausea, and possibly back pain if the infection spreads to the kidney. Go see the doctor and have them do a urine culture- if it's positive they can put you on antibiotics. Unfortunately, for the sciatica, there's not much you can do except supporting your belly and stretches.

Hi, Anna:
Have you thought about going to a chiropractor?
Do you wear a pregnancy girdle for support?

Just want to know. D.

I hope the doctor will see you swiftly and see if they can determine the cause. The fact that you recently had a catheter-drawn urine specimen AND also have frequency of urination may indicate a UTI, potentially even a bladder infection. THe pain that goes down into your leg could be a result of any number of things, so it's best to have that checked out, too. The nausea could easily accompany the pain - but could also be an aspect of UTI. I really hope they get it figured out for you quickly - so you can be feeling better soon! Good luck.

Sounds like possibly sciatica. I had that with both my pregnancies and my doc prescribed physical therapy which helped a lot. I also got a pregnancy yoga DVD and found certain stretches helped too. I'd definitely tell your doctor about it, though, to make sure.

Sounds like it might be siatic nerve pain but I would give your dr a call just to be on the safe side.

OH - when I read your original, I thought sciatica, like everyone else. But the catheter detail is important! That could be a bladder infection that is going to your kidney. Definitely talk to the doctor and don't leave out the catheter details!

Sounds like sciatica. I also had sacroillitis, which is now chronic. There's a sort of semi-flexible joint there in the lower back and pelvic bone and seems to have to do with inflammation, pressure, and nerve issues. Physical therapy helps a lot, as long as you keep going. I think some of the things they did there made it better, and they were therapies I couldn't do at home.
