My husband and I have been trying for sometime for our second child. Anyways, I know that we should probably go to a doctor but, what doctor? Just our regular physician. I don't know if we need to go to a fertility clinice because we both should be fine. Any advice at all would help.

What can I do next?

I say dont stress or think about it, just enjoy each other in that intimate moment, it will happen when it happens.

I was that way when I wanted my first child, after I married my husband I wanted nothing but to have a baby and It wasnt happening so I just had that attitude oh well it will happen when it happens and stopped stressing over it and thinking about it and 2 months later boom I was pregnant.

Good Luck

If you have been trying for more then one year you should contact your OB/GYN. They can handle some treatments. After about 3 months if you are not pregnant they will send you to a fertility dr. I reccomend Dr. Reshif out of baptist. He blessed us with our daughter in one month of trying.

Julia,
Great news! You know you can get pregnant!! That's what my doctor told me when I was discouraged trying to have my second child. I suggest taking your fertility in your owns hands. See your OBGYN ( or see mine-Jacob ____@____.com's AWESOME!!)and try the ovulation kits. That is mostly likely the first recommendation a doctor is going to give. If you don't get pregnant after a few months of that, ask what your options are. If you don't ask, you'll never know! My doctor and I were planning in-utero when I didn't get pregnant and then WHAM!- I was pregnant.Good luck!!!!

Start with an OB/GYN then get a refferral to a fertility specialist.

Most of the medications you would need a standard OBGYN can prescribe and monitor. Be prepared for lots and lots of blood tests.

The next thing to do is get as healthy as possible. Do Pilates to keep your abdominals strengthend. Stop alcohol, and smoking if necessary. Cut back on sugar or adjust your diet to keep your hormones in check. Most of all spend a lot of time with your little one because once another is brought in that quality time is cut down to a third.

For me it was that I wasn't ovulating. We had been trying for 2 years. The first thing they offered was rebound ovulation. I took birthcontrol pills for a few months then I was supposed to ovulate the next month off of them. Well it took a few more months to concieve DS#2 but after that I was getting pregnant left and right.

I did the same thing when I got pregnant with DS#3 this time I was pregnant the very next month.

I have heard that a lot of the times it takes longer to get pregnant with the second child than the first. I think you should get a referral from your OB for a fertility specialist. Don't give up, I know it can be frustrating. Good luck!

Start by going to your OB/GYN I think that they can do a basic exam and make sure that everything is ok and give osm suggestions, if that does not work then maybe they can suggest a fertility dr. for you.

If you are both healty and have one child already maybe you could try those ovulation detectors they sell at the stores. My sister used one after trying for 6 months, and it work the first try!! I guess it couldn't hurt.

My husband & I tried for almost 8 years. We went to Dr Reshef at Baptist & tried different procedures, but nothing worked & it was emotionally draining. There was medically nothing wrong with either one of us. We finally quit "trying". I started going to a Chiropractor for over a year & was taking Fertility Blend for Women (vitamins you can order through GNC) & using progesterone cream. I was almost through my 1st trimester when I found out I was pg last year. Our son is almost 11 months old now & doing great. I believe the Chiropractic care (Dr Ryan Hansen - Edmond), vitamins, progesterone & prayers helped. I think it also helps if you & your husband have an 'O' at the same time. (maybe TMI... sorry) It all worked for us. Good luck & have fun trying!

Ovulation predictor kits can help or even a fertility monitor. Also, a lot of OBs can assist with ititial fertility issues. Even though you both are health, you could still benefit from it.

I have fertility issues so I can tell you a little more on the role OBs can play. ____@____.com

Hope this helps.

stop trying, relax and enjoy the time you and your husband "spend" together. Stress is the number one thing to cause you to not get pregnant. Dont try to do it just let it happen.
Nature has a way of taking care of these things.

Julia,

I used the ClearBlue Easy Digital Fertility Monitor & it really, really helped to shorten the time it took to concieve.

It's not cheap but it was well worth it for us!

I would suggest going to someplace with a pharmacy. In that section, right next to pregnancy tests, is an ovlation kit. It will tell you the time of the month that you are the most fertile. If that doesn't work, see your ob/gyn.
