Does anyone have a recommendation on a good potting training seat. My son is two and I would like to start introducing him to it.
I like the Baby Bjorn seat. It fits on a regular toilet and my son could get it on and off by himelf. It's more expensive than some of the others though. The other one that my mom got that was ok was the Cushie Tushie seat. It also seemed to be okay and was less expensive. Good luck!
You may also consider a floor potty for the beginning stages, plus you can put it anywhere in the house. We bought a Baby Bjorn Potty Chair (http://www.babybjorn.com/en/American/products/Bathroom/BA...) and my daughter took it immediately (the hole in the toilet scared her). When she was ready to get on the toilet we got her the BB Toilet Trainer (http://www.babybjorn.com/en/American/products/Bathroom/BA...) and a cheap "cushioned" one for our other bathroom. The BB seat was so much nicer because it's contoured, and if my daughter sat on the cushioned one for very long her bottom would get a red ring and she would stick to the cushion.
However, after reading McK4's comment about the built-in seat I think I'm going to try that (dd is 4 and I'm 8 mo pregnant). As nice as the BB seat is, it's really annoying having to take it off when I want to go, remember to put it back on for my daughter, etc.
When I potty trained my daughter, I used the $11 one from Target that is Dora. They also have Elmo and Diego. She really only used it for a couple of weeks and then was ready to be "big" and use the regular potty without the seat.
We got a toilet seat that has the little kid seat built right in. It is flat and you just lift it up and it fits into the lid when an adult uses the toilet. I used to have the kind that you put on and take off each time but I then I got this one that is all one piece and we love it. I have a 4.5 year old and a 2 year old and we will be using it for a long time. The 4 y.o. still likes to use it because she doesn't like the "falling in" feeling. I think it was like $35 or so but well worth the money for us. You can google "attatched potty seat" or "built in potty seat" and will probably get a bunch of different choices if you are interested.

The Bjorn potty was too small (and my son is not big at all) and he never seemed comfortable on it. I even tried multiple potty chairs from Target/Walmart that just set on the big potty and had trouble with my son peeing between the hard plastic and the soft plastic area which made a mess when I had to take the seat of the potty to use it myself. This one has never had that problem and now that my son is 2 1/2 and pretty much completely potty trained- but in his "by myself" stage- he can either just sit on the potty chair- or set the seat on the big potty and use the stool to get up there all by himself (he does sit on the big potty alone, but still needs help getting up there by himself and he is starting to refuse help from mommy lol)! The seat area comes off for easy travel- can even take it on vacation with you. I will never use another potty chair ever again! I also like that this one is a little bigger/taller than other potty chairs! It is a breeze to clean- I just stick it in the shower with me when it needs cleaned out. Best of all- it is very reasonably priced for what you get ($25 with free shipping!!!)! Check it out! I don't think you will be disappointed.
my favorite are the padded ones that sit on the toilet seat. they are small so they fit nicely into the under sink cabinet and travel well. they are easy to clean. it teaches kids to use the toilet right away instead of a potty chair first and then a transition to the toilet. i got one for less than $8 at walmart. it has gone through 3 kids so far. the only negative is that once in a while someone tries to wear it on their head and it gets stuck, but you get that with any potty chair.
I second Bethany! This worked well for all of my kids and you can always buy an extra one to keep in your car for Grandma's or visits to friends houses. They can easily be wiped off with Lysol wipes and you don't have to worry about the transition from the potty chair to a big boy/girl toilet.
