I was wondering if anyone has tried The Insulite PCOS System www.pcos.insulitelabs.com? I was diagnosed with PCOS 8/06 and I was put on Metformin. I conceived two months later after trying for two years. We were blessed to have a daughter born in 7/07. We have been trying to conceive since 8/08 all while I am taking Metformin. I have absolutely no luck. I have been to my Reproductive Endocrinoligst and so has my husband and he says that we are fine and that it is a timing issue. I am 38 and he has given me a 9% monthly chance of getting pregnant due to my age. I have tried the ovulation kits, charting my temperature, lying still for 20 minutes, elevating my pelvus and metformin. So, when I saw the above website I thought that maybe that would help. I am open for any suggestions because it has become an emotional topic for me. I grew up an only child and I really do not want my daughter to grow up without a sibling. We do not have any family nearby and I really want her to have that connection. So, if you have any tips to get pregnant or information about the above website I would be greatly appreciative!

I was diagnosed with PCOS, and it took us over a year to conceive our second child. I am 14 weeks pregnant today. I went to Dr. Michael Magee in Shawnee Mission, while he's not an RE, he is very knowledgeable about PCOS. Have you taken Femara, or any other ovulation inducing medicines? I also had a "trigger shot" or HCG injections each month to make you actually ovulate? It helps with the "timing" issues of intercourse. And of course then there is the next step of IUI. If you do not have a Dr. that is working aggressively to get you pregnant, with your age and your PCOS, you need to find a Dr that will. It took us a year and seven medicated cycles to finally have a successful one. I am 36 and my husband is 40, so it can be done! Good Luck! Feel free to send me any additional questions you may have.

my doctor has helped several women get pregnant through nutritional work. One lady 28 year old couldn't get pregnant and had tried everything only one month on this doctors nutritional protocol and she conceived and carried the baby to term. Another lady was in her thirty's and had had two previous children then miscarried and couldn't conceive once again she conceived and carried to term after being on his nutritional protocol for a month! his name is Dr.Troy Rockers ###-###-#### good luck!

The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler is VERY GOOD. There is a section in there regarding PCOS. While I did not have PCOS it took us over 2 years to conceive. Someone recommended the book to me after and we had two more children (even with a blocked fallopian tube!). Email me if you have any other questions about it! Good luck.

I myself have wondered the same thing? Trying to get my doctors to answer questions about it is very difficult too. They don't know anything about it, and they don't want to take the time to find out on our behalf. I don't like to just take anything. It sounds very good and looks professional and all. And after reading the testimonies gets your prayers up! I am the same age, pcos cyster as well, and would like to know more about it also, but have had a hard time getting more info about it.
Great question!!!!!!!

Hi S.,

Have you tried acupuncture? I was diagnosed with high FSH (day 3 cycle was 21) in October of 2008. I started acupuncture in December and my last FSH level in April was 9. I go to Mary Zhang. She is a true healer. She charges 60 for a consultation and 80 per visit. It's expensive, but I feel it's money well spent. Mary specializes in fertility and has a very high success rate. I'm waiting for the results from my 2nd IUI. I have hope that Mary will help me achieve pregnancy. Good luck!

I don't have advice on this particular system, but I do want to tell you about Mary Zhang and Alicia Johnson (www.maryzhang.com). They are an acupuncturist/naturopath team. Mary specializes in acupuncture for fertility, and Alicia can help you with diet and supplements if insulin resistance is an issue for you. I encourage you to meet with them to see what they have to say about your health issues. Or at the very least, they offer informational talks on their services (check out the website). IMPO, they would be a wonderful addition to your healthcare team.

All the best-
Dr. Alyssa
