I have always had yellowish teeth. I always brushed them but never really flossed them. Recently I quit drinking soda and started flossing every morning and night. I also use a toothpaste with extra fluoride in it that is a prescription from my dentist. My teeth are not sparkling white like if you have them whitened but they are noticeably whiter. My husband was out of town when I started and he got back about a month after I started and that was one of the first things he noticed. I am scared to use the whiteners because in the past I have used them and they made my teeth very sensitive.

B.,
I have yellowing teeth and have used the over the counter whiteners from Crest. However, they made my teeth very sensitive. When I mentioned it to my hygeinist, she said that is very common with any whiteners, so I don't use them anymore. Guess I'll just have to live with the condition... I'm sorry I can't give you more positive feedback.

Hi B.,
In my experience also I had servere sensitivity with the stripes. I have recession on my gum line anyway which made it worse. I would suggest making a plan with your dentist for profressional whitening depending on your dental insurance and your financial situation. I heard the zoom whitening works very well and it may be worth looking into.

Uh oh--it looks like my experience is about the same as others. I used some and they made my teeth VERY sensitive! There are some mouth washes out there for whitening that work alright--they don't whiten as well as the strips but they didn't make my teeth as sensitive either.

I have been very satisfied with a whitening toothpaste that contains myrrh(from a shrub in Yemen), papain(a enzyme in the milky juice of the papaya) and propolis(a mixture that honey bees collect from trees). My teeth were slightly yellow from drinking tea, carbonated drinks and coffee. Now the yellow is turning to white.
