P.M.
Hi P.,
You may want to try Wholefood or go to an Inidan store where they have Henna products. I have also heard about Avida salons that use products that are good to you hair.
Ladies,
I do not think there is an affordable organic stylist out there! I am wondering where I can buy the least toxic hair color. I'm too young for salt and pepper, but don't want to jeoparize my health. Suggestions? I live in far north Dallas.
Changed my mind! I decided to cut my hair short and sassy and to go "natural." I am mostly white in the front and dark in the back. LOL! My husband says I look sophisticated. I feel as though I have been set free! No more coloring!

You can try with natural henna. Henna is a natural product that has also conditioning effects. You may be able to buy henna at organic food stores (e.g., central market) or beauty product stores.
Henna is available in red, blonde, etc.. Please, ask/check the best color tonality to chose for gray hair.
P.,
The gal that does my cuts and highlights is very "green" conscious and only provides organic and/or eco-friendly hair products but I'm not positive on her color...email me and I'll give you her number, it's worth asking :) My email is:
____@____.com.
Thanks!!
Hi P.:
Try Central Market and Sprouts. They both carry hair color.
I bought some organic hair color at Whole Foods. It has been awhile and I don't remember the name but it worked well.
Go natural and help us YOUNG women say NO to hair color.
I was a wonderful (beautyshop/bottle) blonde before cancer and chemo made me a stylish chick with GREAT head scarves/wraps. I'm WAY to young - with little ones - to be going through any of this, but too young to be "GREY." However, when God brought it back it was a wonderful shade of "platinum." The back is salt & pepper, but the front is silver; and I'm leaving it.
I just turned 45.
Let it grow out until its long enough that you would color it then cut it off short and let it grow back in natural. It's just hair - it's not YOU. Prove it to yourself.
My best to you - Suzi
A salon in Dallas that does this is Clive & Co. in Addison, I think.
I've yet to hear of an illness or fatality related to hair color. If you have a link...please forward! Please, let it include conclusive scientific findings/studies! I've been coloring my hair every 4-6 weeks for 16 years, and will continue until I can no longer! I am healthy, 32, with 5 kids, work out 4-5 days a week and care about the Earth as well, but refuse to lose the 'natural' blonde...ha..it is just such a mood booster when I have it freshly colored! :-)
Whole Foods carries safe hair color. They have a wide variety of colors. I've been using it for years and years and love it....
Naturtint is the brand I use, but they carry several brands.
Dying your hair shows more wrinkles/facial oldness!:) Let your hair go natural... skin/hair will "match" as in softness of the face/lightness of the hair.
Lush (at NorthPark Mall) carries natural Henna... It not only colors, but is wonderfully conditioning.
P.,
Whole Foods carries two different brands.
Good luck.
The only truly organic hair coloring is henna and/or indigo. A combination of these provide great results depening on your hair color. You can find receipes online along with a how to list.
You can even by somewhat organic coloring over the counter. I think herbal essence has a product out now that is more natural than chemcial.
If you are nervous about doing it yourself, try contacting a beauty school where an experienced student or teacher could assist you. Otherwise, you'll be paying top dollar for the service.
