Any suggestions on a good counselor? Need to share some suppressed feelings with someone. Need help sorting it all out and advice on how to approach it. I'm remembering things from my childhood that I didn't/don't care to think about. But now it causing me to view things in a different light now that I'm a mother. I haven't even shared with my mother. But things she's asked/requested has put me on edge. I keep my girls very close to me...very close.

What can I do next?

I don't personally have a counselor, but I have been considering going to on recently (depression is a common condition in my family). My sister told me that the United Way offers counseling services in various locations that are priced on a sliding scale -- according to what you can afford. I believe you can get information about locations, etc on their website. Take care.

Hey B.,
It may be a counseling issue, but it may be that you're experiencing that feeling of "who am I now that I'm a mom?" or "I don't want to parent like my parents, but what do I want to do??"

If so, as a certified parent coach, I offer free 25 minute coaching sessions to moms. You can look at my website and see what I am all about. We can determine together if you think it's a counseling issue or perhaps something that coaching could help you sort through. Nonetheless, you can become a subscriber at my site, www.nobleMother.com

Hope to hear from you,
R.

Hi B.,
It really sounds like you do need to talk to a counselor. I have 2 places for you to check out. Everything is very confidential. They offer counseling services or can refer you to someone. I don't think this is about being a mom-- I think it is about some stuff you have repressed and you don't want this to happen to your kids. Thank God you are realizing this and want to deal with it. Go for it. Call Catholic Charities ( you do not have to be Catholic)-###-###-#### -www.catholiccharitiesatlanta.org-- they offer services on a sliding scale. Also contact Claire Hertzler- Reg. Director-###-###-#### (office)-National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families-- she can give you ideas for counselors and everything is confidential. Hope this helps. Call now!

I know of a great life coach who I am always happy to refer. He has supported many through such challenges. His name is Dr. Michael Scimeca. His office is located in Roswell. www.scimeca.com. He is a very good person and a great father and husband who is always looking to do the right thing.

Hi B.,

I have a coach that may be able to help. Check out his website mycoachpro.com. I went through a leadership course with him initially for my business but found that I learned a lot about myself and experienced a tremendous amount of personal growth! He is exceptional and his style will help you understand your past and why you are the way you are, etc. At least you could do an initial call with him to see if it would be a good fit. He is a gentle soul and very skilled at what he does!
Hope this helps,
K.
