Need Some Advice... - San Antonio,TX

I posted a few days ago with some weird symptoms (frequent urination, eating two meals every few hours, gained 8 lbs in a week, tingly sensitive breasts, overly emotional, always on the verge of tears etc) that seemed very pregnancy related, but I went and had a blood test done and the results were negative. The thing is, though, that my belly is growing, and it's the only area that is. My arms, face and legs are still really skinny. I'm still experiencing all the symptoms, plus headaches and stiffness now. Is there any possibility at all that a blood test could be inaccurate? Could it be a tumor? Or a cyst? I have an appt with my OB GYN next week. Oh and I have already been checked in the recent past for hypo/hyperthyroidism, anemia, and diabetes. Weight gain for me is pretty much impossible. I was always in trouble during my last pregnancy because I didn't gain anything. I delivered my son at 129 lbs. I was 112 lbs when I got pregnant..that last time that is.

What can I do next?

Hi A.,
The test could have been wrong. I went to my doctor June 6,2006 to make sure that I was not pregnant, so that I could get my birth control pills. The first day of my last period had been May 1,2006. On that date, June 6, I had a blood test done. It was NEGATIVE. Either the test was wrong, or I had just concieved because I had a baby in Feb. Good Luck

I have had hypothyroidism since I was 19. Some of your symptoms sound similar to hypothryroid, but you should get full course of bloodwork to find out if it could be thyroid or even diabetes. The two kind of go hand in hand, and usually either involve lots of weight gain or loss. I was told that having children often triggers symptoms in a hypothyroid person, especially if they don't know about it and aren't already on medication.

Good moring A.. I know how ya feel. This time before I knew I was pregant. I started to gain weight and my attidue was horrible. So I went to get a blood test donje and surely enough I was 16 weeks. Also, my weight goes up and down I have a throid condition. I also have bad migranes. Be sure to tell your OB/GYN everything that is going on with you.Do you think that you could be a little stressed out? Somketimes stress can make you have these things. Also, I am being treated for a possible sudo tumor...... Who knows I think Im ok.
I hope everything goes well for you at the doctors....

A.,

I would think you were pregnant and yes even blood tests can come up false so dont be surprised if you are pregnant. If you have another pregnancy test and it shows negative I would immediatly seek advise from my general practioner to find out why you are having the symptoms you are experiencing .

Good luck to you!

It sounds like possible fibroids, or depression. I suffer from fibroids, ovarian cysts and depression and I suffer for similar symptoms.

I would suggest going to your primary care physician. It could be diabetes or something digestive. The weight gain is probably from eating too much or too often and that could cause your mood swings as well. Or it could just be your hormones (been there) Hang in there - it could just be stress - that will cause a little extra belly.
