Ok Mamas,

I need your help. I'm having trouble coming up with ideas for my son's 1st birthday. For our daughter we had a big party in the backyard with a bounce house , we grilled and had about 80 guests. I'd like to do something comprable for my son, but the predicament is December is not generally a good time for outside parties and I simply cannot accomadate that many guests in our home, it is too small for us as it is much less that many other people. I want to have the party somewhere the little kids like my son and daughter can have fun and roam somewhat free, but the larger kids and adults can enjoy themselves as well. I would not consider some place like Chuck E Cheese. I'd like to be some place where the only people there are employees or members of our party. We live on the border of Fort Worth and Arlington so either is fine. I should probably also mention that while we could do a small friends only party... that too would be to large for our house inside and it is a guarentee that the entire very large family would show up anyway.

Any suggstions????

What can I do next?

I don't know what your budget is, but have you considered renting a snow machine. It would be different and you could have an outdoor party with the expectation of your own snow. It's a novel thought, but I have always wanted snow on my yard in december in TX. :) Yeah, I'm a dreamer.

I, along with my daughter, own Bouncin Bonanza in Crowley. We are an indoor facility with approx 15,000 sq. feet and 13 bounce houses. You are free to play on all of them during your bounce time. We have a joust ring, an alligator to name a few. We have bouncies for all age groups and we encourage the adults to play also.We don't go from room to room with limited bouncies in each room. You can find us on the web at www.bouncinbonanza.net and our phone number is ###-###-####. I hope we are able to help you out..

HI there! I know you said you wanted it to be friends, family and employees only - but we had a party at Mountasia in North Richland Hills. They have a huge bounce house room well off the side of the building, and it usually is very empty, even on a weekend. Nothing like the chaos of Chuck E. Cheese. It's where I'm planning on having my daughter's third birthday at the end of December.

Good luck!

Ours is December 7th. First b-days are nothing that really anyone (especially the b-day kid) remembers, so I wouldn't do much at all. We had a get together at our home and invited only those close to us including a few friends we met from our parenting/childbirth classes. We just brought out the toys for them to play with, and it was great. We didn't invite any bigger kids except two neighbor friends of ours, and they still enjoyed themselves. We don't usually feed the people at our parties. We try to make it a time in between meals and just have cake with a couple of snacks.

SEveral subdivisions and apartment complexes have clubhouses or amenity centers you can rent. You can also look at Cabela's or something like that. Their rooms fit about 40 I think.

There is a really cool place called "Celebrations" in West fort Worth, you rent it out, it is filled with a bounce house, dress up items, little rooms for the kids to play in and tons of other stuff. You take your food and cake and drinks, and there are plenty of tables for the adults to sit, visit and keep and eye on the kids. there is also air hockey table for the older ones. I have a mom owned business (party supplies and bounce houses in Crowley) so if you changed your mind about the home thing I would love your business. BUT DEFINITELY CALL CELEBRATIONS, it is worth the drive and you dont have to worry about strange kids coming around.

We're having our son's first birthday party at a place called Monkey Business in Bedford. It's GREAT for toddlers, and there's even plenty for older kids to do too. They just opened, so it's new, and clean. You can bring your own food and cake, etc, or they can provide it for you. They aren't very busy at all, so even though you don't get the whole place to yourself, you really basically do... We've been there to play a few times during the week and on a weekend and we were the only people there! Nothing like CEC!

What day is your baby's birthday? Mine is on the 13th. :)
