Hello Ladies,
My husband and I have been trying to conceive since April 2008, but nothing so far. I’ve been to my OBGYN and have done my check up and came to find out I have Mild Dysplasia and he suggest for me to go see him every 6 months. Well I was wondering if Mild Dysplasia would make it harder to conceive, I have been trying to track my ovulation but for some reason last month my period came early and this month am about a week late but I don’t feel any early signs of being pregnant. I have been taken pre-natal vitamins. Any other suggestions.
Thanks in Advance

So What Happened?

Hello Ladies,
I would like to say Thank you, Thank you to you all for all the wonderful advice and encouragement. As of today I still haven’t started my period and I will be going to the doctor this week for a blood test. So whatever the outcome is we will leave it in god’s hands. Some of you have voiced your concern about
Mild Dysplasia, I went in for my regular check up as well as talk about us trying to have another baby. When they did my check up and it came back abnormal and I went back in for a biopsy and that’s when It was determine that I had Mild Dysplasia my doctor and I talked about
Mild dysplasia and said that at this time it’s not something that will cause me not to conceive and for us to keep trying but would like for me to have another check up in 6 months to see how things are and he did say that in some cases it does go away and in some cases they might have to do freezing and he explain to me what all that involves. He also said that if we haven’t conceive in about a year then he will
Suggest other options at that time. So as I said I would like to say THANK YOU again and keep us in your daily prayers and I will keep you updated as well.
A.

Hi!
Congrats! Having a child is the best thing that ever happened to me!!!!!!!!! My oldest child is 22 and I could not be happier! Of course there are so many stressful moments.
However, no better satisfaction have I ever unexpectedly had! I was not wanting or expecting motherhood so it has been a wonderful surprise of happiness! Loving others helps love to flow through us and we get benefits! The more time with our children at all ages, the better , I think! The more love and encouragement, the better!
That being said, I have written many articles on this on Mamasource.
You can go to Dr. Helen Pensanti, MD, website,www.askdrhelen.
Natural progesterone cream daily helps and well as a good immune and nutrition system. Adrenal supplements from Dr. Pensanti are great! The body needs these daily.
Sugar kills Vitamin C which the body needs for many functions, so no soda, candy , desserts, etc. Milk causes mucous which causes stress on the body at times.
A diet of 80 percent of fresh fruits and vegetables,
1000 mgs of fish oil daily, purified water , less meat ,
less processed food and less fast food all help keep the body in great condition.
I am so excited for you! This is a great time! Please let us know what happens! I like to pray and ask God for help! This has always made me feel better! A local Moms group at a local church might help! I love talking to other Moms!
Blessings!
Sincerely,
C. N.

Hi. I am 38 and have 5 children. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to have children...so, my doctor suggested I chart my temperature & cycle for 6 months. I used the chart in the back of this book, TAKING CHARGE OF YOUR FERTILITY by Toni Weschler. This book helped me to understand my body and the entire reproductive process. (I finally got pregnant on the 6th month.) If you haven't read this, I think you should. If you still have issues or questions, I think you should maybe get another doctor. I love my doctor, Dr. Suzette Boyd, in Frisco. Also, know that any stress and illness can affect your cycles. Trying to get pregnant is hard enough, when you add your worries, the stress can be enormous. Just relax and breathe! Good Luck!

Some resources you might consider:

Dr. Margaret Christensen, www.christensencenter.com, can do a competent pre-conception evaluation. Her office is at corner of White Rock Trail and Walnut Hill. Her work is based on the philosophy of Dr. Christiane Northrup.

Dr. Christiane Northrup's book Women's Bodies Women's Wisdome, usually available at Half Price Books. Also see her former medical practice website at www.womentowomen.com

Education about how your body functions is a good place to start. If you understand and are aware of your body, you should be able to tell not only when ovulation happens, but also whether your body is healthy. Doctor's typically are not trained to evaluate health very well.

Good luck!

Hello, be very careful with Dysplasa as what I understand it is cells that change and can go into cancer. Years ago I had it. My doctor and her colleage disagreed about it. She said I got it from my husband. Men give it to women but they carry it but do not have any affects from it. I had to freeze it hoping that would get rid of it but then it did not and I then had surgery. She told me to use protection and her colleage disagreed. My husband went in for an exam but showed nothing but she said that did not matter because it would not show up. I also has a neighbor her mom and her had it and it was too later for her mom. You need to take care of this before getting pg. I would be afraid and ask your doctor questions about that. Pray this just goes away on its own. I did have a cell once that just returned. God Bless G. W

I don't think dysplasia has any bearing on fertility...but I am not a doctor. I had unexplained infertility for over 10 years. I was diagnosed with mild dysplasia when I was in my very early 20's. I was then told that I have PCOS when I was in my late 20's. But according to the 4 different doctors that treated me in that 13 year time span of failed attempts, my infertility was still considered a mystery. I finally had my first little baby in Feb '08. I plan to start trying again in about 8 months. I wish you luck.

I've dealt with long-time infertility issues & have tried many things. I've seen herbs, vitamins & diet change work for many. I happen to be one of those whose problems were very stubborn (PCOS). We eat 99.9% organic. Everything is whole foods. In the past I've tried the raw food vegan thing, the Sally Fallon thing, you name it. For overall health, I finally found a comfortable place with a very clean, balanced diet. No refined anything. Please consider a healthy diet change if you don't already have one since I truly believe it can help prevent complications & miscarriage once you do conceive. It may also be all you need to get pregnant.

Having said that, I've done infertility treatments & tried herbs at other times, but there have only been three commonalities with my last two pregnancies: Healthy Diet, Ambrotose & acupuncture. I am now 31 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. I did chart for this pregnancy as well, but no infertility treatment.

One of my Reproductive Endocrinologists told me about a study she was involved with in Seattle that evaluated the use of acupuntrue to treat infertility. She said it really does improve outcomes. Dr. Jane Liu is the acupunturist I see. She has an office in Frisco & one in Dallas. She specializes in infertility & other women's issues & has been written up in a national magazine. She was an OB in China before coming to the US. I love the sessions b/c they are so relaxing. She turns on soft music, puts heaters over my feet & abdomen and lowers the lights. Then I get to lay there in the dark for half an hour. I usually fall asleep! It's like going to the spa. She also custom blends a Chinese herbal tea to drink once a day. Anyway, here's a link to her website. She's wonderful. http://www.acupuncture4women.com/page_home.asp

I am in the same boat as you, we have been trying to conceive since April. I always have mild dysplasia and I do not believe that will have any effect on getting pregnant. With my first I had dysplasia and got pregnant with her on the first try. I think every pregnancy is just different. I could be wrong (it would not be the first time), but I don't think they two are related.

I have finally come to the conclusion that God is waiting for me to pregnant this month or next, in order not to have to pay 2 deductibles. That way the whole pregnancy is all in one year. Maybe He is waiting for you too =) Just kidding, try not to focus on it so much and eventually you will be pregnant

There are treatments for dysplasia, did your Dr not offer any options to you besides seeing him every 6 months? If not I would recommend seeing another Dr or specailist. I had mild dysplasia when I was a teen and had the feezing done. Never had a problem with it again. I would definitely seek out treatment options since if left alone it can lead to worse things.
Oh and I went on to have 4 babies and 3 healthy pregnancies (some were surrogacies not mine..). We did just have a m/c but it's due to uterine scarring from c-sections so we're seeing a specialist about conceiving again.

My husband and I tried to get pregnant for almost 2 years before we purchased an ovulation detector kit...you get them same place you buy a pregnancy test. The second month using it, we were pregnant. It just tell you when you are ovulating, much more reliable than tracking temps and such.

Good luck.
