Maternity/baby Gear Stores??

As I have said before, I'm new up here (here being Saratoga Springs). The only maternity store I've been able to find is Haute Mama, and it is way more expensive than my budget allows ($300 jeans??). We received a phone book in the mail, and there's not even a section for maternity stores in it. I searched online and came up with one in Glens Falls, went to the address, and it was definitely not a maternity store. Wal-mart and Target have maternity stuff online, but next to nothing in store. I'm trying to shop not only for maternity clothing for myself, but everything I need for the baby that's due in a few weeks (I have nothing. At all.) and it's difficult when I can't find a store. Since I assume there is one and I'm just too stupid to find it, I figured I'd ask on here. Where do you guys go to buy baby stuff?

What can I do next?

Hi B., Welcome to the area! I live in Wilton, which is just north of Saratoga Springs. There is a new Motherhood Maternity store in the Aviation Mall up in Glens Falls/Queensbury .. Exit 19 of the Northway. As I recall it's pretty reasonable. When I was pregnant with my first it was 2001 and Motherhood was in Colonie Center (exit 2 of northway) and that is where I did all my shopping - back then Target didn't have any maternity stuff! There is a Target in the Aviation Mall too, don't know if you've been to that one but the selection may be better than the Saratoga store. You might also try JCPenny - they used to have a small maternity section. But they also have baby gear in their catalogues; that is where we got my son's conversion crib.
Also, I gave birth to both of my children at Saratoga Hospital and had great experiences both times. Be sure to ask about the hot tub - it is great! I also go to the Myrtle Street OB/GYN office - I see the midwives there and they are awesome!
One more thing - I have been in a MOMS Club for 5 years and it has literally saved my life! We are a group of mostly stay-at-home moms who get together often and talk about motherhood, wife-hood, being a woman and a mom. We also have moms nights out and various activities for the kids. Feel free to email me if you'd like more info; ____@____.com; you can also check out our club's website: www.saratoganorthmoms.com .
Good Luck!!
-M.

I'm down the road in Burnt Hills and there are two secondhand/consignment stores that have kids clothes and maternity clothes. Growth Spurts is a secondhand store with baby, kids and maternity clothes. They have recently moved to a new location and I haven't been in there yet. They are right across the street from Ballston Spa National Bank. Baby Boutique (Bear Boutique? can't quite remember the name) is a little further down the road on the left (right before Stewarts) is a consignment store for kids clothes. It's a little pricier, but everything is nice. They also have toys and nursery items, like cribs, bedding, curtains, lamps, etc. It also seems like there's a maternity store in Crossgates mall, and Target usually has some clothes. I don't really remember because I was lucky to have a lot of hand me downs for that period of time. Welcome to the area and good luck!

Hi B.! I am a first time mom myself! Daughter was born June 23. Anyway so you need maternity clothes...go to MiMi Maternity in Colonie Center Mall. In Colonie, NY. It was formerly known as Motherhood, so if you are going to GPS it not sure what it is going to come up. Also go to the back of the store because in the front it is all A Pea in the Pod stuff (suppper expensive!) MiMi has awesome jeans for like 40 bucks. And for baby stuff, you gotta go to BabiesRus! OMG you will become an addict for sure! That is located in Latham, NY! If you have any other questions you can always shoot me an email! ____@____.com

Good Luck!!!!
