Hi! I am currently putting together my infant-on-the way nursery. I am due in July, but am in the process of collecting things as I see them. I've decided to do bright primary colors based off of the book the Very Hungry Catapillar. I am interested to see if anyone knows of any shops or what not with any clothing or bedding, etc, really anything, with this theme. I've searched online, but I would prefer a store or a place that I could go and actually see the items. Thanks for any help! ;o)

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to all for your advice and suggestions! I have decided to stick to primary colors, and get a copy of the Very Hungry Catapillar book to cut pics out of and frame them on the wall of the nursery. Im in the process of painting my changing table apple red! And I've bought some primary color striped sheets, I think it will turn out great!!
Thanks again! ;o)

I saw this stuff posted on craigslist.org the other day. You may want to type in the name of the book and see what comes up. It's local, so you can go look.

P.S. I was curious, so I looked. Did you see that Target sells the bedding?

About 4 years ago Carter's carried a Very Hungry Catapillar line. You may want to search Ebay.

Have you thought about it being custom made? Also just using bring solid colors to accent with the book? What about a wall or walls mural to carry out the theme?

I think it would be cute to do just basic primary colors for bedding with wall decor that features the caterpillar. You could buy the new greeting cards (I've seen them at Target) and just frame those, or you could do your own paintings. My five year old painted jungle animals at Van Grow Art Studio last summer, and we framed them with mattes and they look so perfect for our nursery... You could do the same! Not perfect, but cute and childlike.

I own a teacher store in Keller and we have a section of very hungry caterpillar merchandise. I don't know of any decoratives, but we always come up with great affordable ideas when people come in with needs like that.

Call some of the snazzy boutiques in Dallas or McKinney or Southlake (there is one in Town Square). Or, depending on your budget, hire a pro and tell her what you are wanting. I will forewarn you though that custom bedding is very pricey. But it just depends on your budget and how badly you want to go with your theme (which I think is super cute by the way!).

I don't have any information on this......sorry. I will share with you that I have saved a TON of primary-colored nursery room fun from when my child was an infant. It was hard to find anything in primary colors back then. I even have the bedding here that I used which was a contemporary Glenna Jean pattern; very pricey. It all looked amazing together. Great for a boy or girl! Not sure how difficult it is today to find primary colors? What I have are called Funny Friends. They are plush items (some very large) you hang from the ceiling with fishing wire at different lengths.....they look suspended in mid-air. REALLY, REALLY neat! I hung them all over the room and used some smaller ones to create my own mobile over the crib. Anyhow, they are rather expensive and can't be found here in Texas. I got them back in Wisconsin, where we lived at the time. I have put them on Craig's List a few times at an amazing price, with no takers. Probably because most here wouldn't know what they even are! :) If you want something SO cute that is VERY original and will keep your baby's attention for hours, contact me and I can send pics and pricing. They were in my nursery until my child was 4. I just wanted to offer this up to you. There is a HUGE, HUGE moon and star, individual stars, and the cutest fish you've ever seen. Colors are bright yellow, blue, red and orange. I also have a large flower for the wall that is purple and lime green. I was going to save and use these for my next child's room but after 8 years I got all caught up in the pink theme and didn't use them this time around. They have been stored in plastic in a smoke-free home. Seriously....like brand new! Message me if you have interest. I have pics of each one, plus the bedding. :) GOOD LUCK!

I have seen sheets and comforter and pillows in this theme from time to time at Ross and Marshall's. Of course that is always hit or miss, but you might want to swing into a few and see!
