You can post an ad on craigslist (I think it's about $75 to post an ad for offering jobs).

I found my nanny and baby sitters on sittercity.com (if I remember well they charge around $100/year)

I used Care.com for one and enannysource.com for the other. They were both great. Good luck!

A good place to start (besides pricey websites etc) is to contact your local child care resource and referral agency. They can provide you with information regarding in home/nanny care as well as other child care options in your area. In Cook County, the local child care resource and referral agency is Illinois Action For Children. You can contact them at ###-###-#### or www.actforchildren.org.

Depending on the amount of time, the rate around Forest Park/BErwyn/Riverside is $10 to $15 an hour but for a full time, you can negotiate a weekly rate. I got my sitter through sittercity.com. There are a lot of nannies/sitters in the area with varying exepriences and ages. And you can check them out.

Siitercity.com is a great site to use, I beleive it's $120 for membership-but check with you or your husbands employer, some employers cover membership as part of your benefits plan. I am actually a nanny who has found my jobs through the site. As I Nanny, I list info about myself and times that I'm available, then as the parent, you can do a background check right from the site and request references.
You can also put an ad type of thing on the site and have Nanny's "appy" for the position.

Good Luck-just make sure that you find someone who has experience with infants, has references and is Infant/child CPR certified :)
