Hi! My name is C. and i'm looking for a good homebirthing class in the next 2 months, since I'm due in Feburary. The class can be anywhere in the east bay area. I know its bit short notice, but that's the way the cookie crumbled.

Laura Todaro gives a very good class, everything you need to know and a great opp to meet other homebirth parents (we are still pals with most of our classmates). You can find her through the bay area homebirth collective; she also teaches at alta bates so you can find her there.

I attended a Bradley birth preparation class for my firstborn and found it very helpful. I can't recommend anybody here, as I gave birth in Chicago, but if you google the Bradley method, you should be able to find a class in the area.
For my second child, I took a Hypnobirthing class and loved it too. You can find books and CDs on the topic if you don't have time to do both classes.
I delivered both my children drug-free so I can vouch for the effectiveness of the classes.
Congratulations!

We had a wonderful homebirth class with Laura... but I don't remember her last name and we moved out of the country so I don't have her address/phone number. You can get information about her classes with the Bay Area Homebirth Collective. http://www.bayareahomebirth.org/

Hi C.,

As a doula, my overall favorite childbirth class that I recommend is by the Loving Arms group... Janaki Costello and Carol Shattuck-Rice.
The next Loving Arms childbirth class is going to begin Thursday December 11 at 7:00 pm and will be taught by Carol Shattuck-Rice. The class will meet twice in December, take a two week break for the holidays and will resume again in January. The last class is February 12. This series includes a breastfeeding class and a class on the emotional realities/challenges and joys of the postpartum period.
There is space available!! call ###-###-####

I know that's going to run a little tight with your estimated due date, but even if you miss a class, it will be worth it!

Birth Blessings to you,
H. Wiersma
