Kids Cranky After Daylight Savings?

Hi Moms,

Just wondering, did you notice your kids acting different today? My son (almost 5 years old) was so sensitive and babyish this morning and I am wondering if the time change is throwing him off. I let him sleep as long as he wanted so it's not an issue not getting enough sleep, he woke up later than usual. He also had a very exciting weekend with his birthday on Saturday...

Also, does anyone know, if Arizona does not change the time, how does it coordinate televisions shows, conference calls, train and bus schedules, ect with other states that do?

What can I do next?

Mine's only cranky because she missed her nap yesterday due to the time change, so that threw her off today. The oldest did fine, set his alarm and got up right away, commented on how dark it was. I'm *always* tired, so didn't affect me a bit! (I still hate DST, though.)

My kids were okay, a little slower this morning but not too cranky.
Me on the other hand? I am cranky, I hate losing that hour!

I'm with the other cranky moms!

I hate the time changes, although I do like it staying light later in the evenings. I don't like the dark at 4:30 in the afternoon business during the winter.
My son had a really hard time getting to sleep last night and a hard time getting up this morning, but he adjusts a lot quicker than I do.

P.S. Hawaii doesn't change their times either. I wouldn't mind living in either place to avoid the whole thing.

Who isn't cranky when they have to get up an hour ealier than usual? My kids are teens and it was a slow morning! The fall back time change is always easier - not only do we get that extra h our of sleep but it feels like we get to sleep late too. When the kids were little I always preferred the Fall to the Spring time change - just made life a teeny bit easier for a few days.

Arizona does not change their time and I wish we didn't either. I think it stinks and is just plain silly. As for calls and schedules and the like, ya just adjust the time as you would with anything/place.

It always takes a while to adjust and the kids are no exception.

A study said that there are more car accidents on this day than on any other day of the year (during day time hours). Everyone has lost an hour of sleep, and we all need sleep.

I had more trouble getting up this morning and my 9 year old, who normally is up and showered by the time I leave at 615, opted to sleep in until 730, when she has to be up for school.

Hubby was home this morning, but when they all called me at work they sounded happy and not stressed....so I think they are good. We did do the park and some shopping yesterday to wear them out so they'd go to bed at a good time and not have a problem today. I think it worked!

When they were little (infant/toddler) I remember having a rough couple of days with the time change, but not now that they are older.

I miss Arizona!!! I'm from there and no they don't change times. Everything just goes on there, excpet they are one hour closer or further then other states, no big deal. As for the kids my daughter whose 1 is super tired today!
