JFF...Dont Ever Send Your So/hubby to Buy a Bathing Suit

We're headed to an indoor water park for the weekend and due to crazy schedules, I haven't made it out to buy a bathing suit. I've lost a lot of weight recently so I can't wear the one from last year...My SO offers to buy me one while he's out. I text him specific directions that say " get me a two piece black with boy shorts and something that covers the stomach". He comes back with a skimpy one piece, hot pink and orange, that shows all of the back and most of the stomach..lol. Why did I think he could handle that? He was insistent that I tried it on and once he saw it...he was like "oh, thats not gonna work, is it?"...Really, I have had three kids so, I might have lost a lot of weight but I still have stretch marks and a flabby belly. But..the kicker came when I said, "did you think you had a model girfriend"? and he said "Well, you're a model in my eyes". BONUS POINTS!
So, I have to ask...has anyone else trusted their SO/husband to buy them a bathing suit?

What can I do next?

Oh Lord no.... You should see some of the things my hubby brings home and thinks I would actually wear outside my house.

Sometimrs I appease him and will ONLY wear something inside the house.

It's not that I'm out of shape, it's his idea of "hot and sexy". Looks more like stripper wear to me!!

I prefer to do my own shopping and keep it sexy but classy!!!

No way. I have a tough time finding bathing suits I like, so I can't imagine sending my husband. Not to mention that he has about a 10 minute limit when it comes to being in a mall.

Your husband definitely gets bonus points for his excellent response!

ROFL you are brave! And no, I wouldn't have him even buy me socks...after 11 years of marriage, he apparently doesn't even know what my name is (see post from earlier today LOL) so sending him out for any article of clothing would be setting him up to fail because he sure as heck wouldn't get the size or style right.

Gotta give your man credit for even venturing into the women's swimsuit section, and he recovered nicely with the model answer, so it's all good right? Well except for the fact that you still need to find a swimsuit...

Congrats on your weight loss!

That is one thing my husband would never in a million years even offer to pick up for me.
I was faced with needing a new suit last year. He was there to laugh along with me about how much some of them were never going to even remotely work. I had to try on a few before I found one that worked for me.
He's seen me go through the same thing with any piece of clothing. He just goes with me and let's me buy what I like and fit :)

Um no.
I always pick out what I want and it's even better if I can try it on.
I can by clothes for my son and husband but no one, not even my Mom, can buy clothes for me.

No! I can't imagine ever sending my husband to buy me a bathing suit.

He would love to see me in the same - something less modest. I have been wearing full coverage skirted affairs in recent years and I feel I will almost drown in all the material I've got on.

I think it's nice your guy picked out something he thought you could wear in his eyes :)

Umm... Never has come up. I don't know if "trust" is the right word here... my husband would NOT shop for that for me. He just wouldn't. He knows how difficult I am to please about certain things and he wouldn't subject himself to the fallout.

Generally, he is very good at picking out clothes for me, but a bathing suit he would not be willing. Frankly, I hate doing it myself. Women's sizing is absurd from one brand to the next they aren't even close half the time, and then when you are talking about something so form fitting like a bathing suit, you are essentially buying a bra that everyone will see.... and when was the last time I walked into a store and picked up a bra and bought it without trying it on?? uh... NEVER. Because even within the same brand and the same size, different styles of bras fit very differently.
So... it's just something that really wouldn't ever come up.

Nice that he totally disregarded your color choices, though. LOL Maybe that's all they had?

Oh heavens no!
A bathing suit is a personal choice & everybody's body is different.
Nice that he went.
Go exchange the suit.
Find time to do it (lunch hour or after you drop off the kids & before you pick them up.
